So, we're all thinking about it.
We all want it.
We all deserve it.
Will it happen?
When will 'Metal On Metal' and 'Forged In Fire' be rereleased in a
remasterd form?
The original recordings are very solid; just a little bass boost and
some other tweaking would make them totally current.
Maybe the inclusions of some of the 'Backwaxed' tracks would help fill
out the remasterd reissue. Or, how about the relavent live tracks
from the 'Past And Present' album as bonus tracks?
We know it would sell (about a thousand copies) but it's a, just, no-
brianer.
Besides, I need to improve the vinyl rip recording that I now have on
CDR....

It would be cool and who knows...maybe sometime in the future. As for
improving your CDR from vinyl recording...just go buy a copy on CD.
The recently released Unidisc pressings are easy to find.

Hey Tony! How's it goin', eh? ;)
My vinyl rips aren't that bad so I'll stick with them; I kinda made a best-of
from those two albums and 'Backwaxed'.
Not to mention my CD budget isn't all that big. :(
   Anyhoo, thanks for your input!
   Eric

BTW, do all the 'Past And Present' CDs have track number discrepencies like
mine does?

Forged In Fire was reissued/possibly remastered - sounds pretty damn good to me
- about 5-7 years ago on the French label AxeKiller. I haven't heard from that
label in ages though so it is possible it's gone belly up. Metal Blade USA did a
compilation called Anthology Of Anvil some years ago as well which has
remastered versions of MOM, March Of The Crabs and Jackhammer. And *very* well
done, I might add too. You won't be disappointed. They are in your face!!

Actually Metal Blade just released it in the US. It was originally
done by Hypnotic and released in Germany.

I don't know if it's me because I lost some high frequencies in mmy
left ear long time ago, but I can't really hear the subtlity of the
remastering art. I hear fine when it's not TOO loud. I listened once
to Black Sabbath remastered and I had to put the old CD with the
remastered CD side by side to try to see a difference. What how do
they proceed exactly, do they improve, boost or change the sound on
the master tracks?

Excuse my ignorance.

There are 11 songs on the album but there are 8 "tracks" on the CD.
For instance Track 6 has March Of The Crabs *and* Jackhammer, Track 7 has Metal
On Metal *and* Winged Assassins, and Track 8 has 666 *and* Mothra together on
it.

Yes, I have this one also and mine is the same way with the two tracks
combined into one as the last 3 songs.

Isn't remastering when they take the master tapes of an album and re-
EQ them so that they will sound best on a digital medium? They were
originally mastered for vinyl with it's limitations, so certain
frequencies were raised and lowered to even out the replay. When
remastered for CD specifications the tapes can be given a bit more
bass-response, etc. so they have a bit more Oooomph and punch, etc. on
a CD.
Tange tells me often that I only hear what I choose to hear! Maybe if
she was "remastered" it would help me??? ;)

I believe all versions of the CD are like that. I've seen this any
many live CDs...particularily where one song just runs into another.

I passed all time on the phone for to put all in order... but mission

Thanks for the update. Well, it's too bad that it didn't work for this time but
I'm hopeful that Anvil will play in Brazil this year. I'm sure that Tiziana will
book Anvil in some other very interesting shows. The band had a lot of gigs
(trips) lately and let's not get discouraged because of this bad luck. I know
how boring are the paperworks to get a Visa and they're never in a hurry to
deliver it. All they want is the cash...If this guy, Marco Rios, wasn't cool
maybe that Anvil is better here or in Europe. They had their share of "unfair"
people in their business since 1980.

After anxious days, the tragedy!
Sad...

Bought the ticket on the first day, and now no Anvil
here? Never tought I would see them live here...,
never! Truly disapointing!

Joined here just to express how the few but loyal
Anvil fans in Brasil are now, just because 1 guy is an
asshole!

South America ALWAYS had trouble with shows, ALWAYS!
After 12 years watching bands like Black Sabbath, Iron
Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon or the small shows of
Grave Digger, Mercyful Fate, Son Of A Bitch that are
history here, people don't learn how to organize a
show, incredible.

Never heard about this Marco Rios, but I can imagine
what's the problem with him!

Tiziana, be sure that none will blame Anvil in here,
specially because, no news about the cancelation are
up until now, 10 pm here on May 20th. Hope you give an
oficial statment to the Brasilian press, we have a big
Heavy Metal press here, so nothing will be against
Anvil!

You have mentioned some very know names in Brasil like
Eric de Haas (century Media), Tumbaproduction, and
Andreas Kisser (don't know what he did, but must have
helped!) and just because of 1 guy, there's no Anvil
here!!! Maybe these guys must help you in the future.

I'll be hoping for the august dates, really! Hope
everything works fine this time!
If not, well....,maybe someday!

The real metal fans in Brasil are waiting one of the
very few bands that plays Metal as it should be
played! Lips, Rob and the guys must have the
opportunity to play to the brasilian fans! So many
bands had before, and they all came back and recorded
those shows..., Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson,
Desaster, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rush, Incatation...,just
to name a few and of diferent stiles!

We'll be waiting!
If Lips reads here, hey man, it'll be an honor to see
you in my country! Hope to see you live and meet you
someday here!

Keep metal alive because Anvil was forged in fire!

put it up in portuguese for the Brazilian fans. Can one of you guys
from down there translate for me. For now I will post a translation I
get from http://babelfish.altavista.com/ but I'd like to get a better
translation.

The message is as follows:

The scheduled Brazilian dates have been cancelled due to problems with
promoter, Marco Rios. He had agreed to pay for their tickets to Brazil
but then failed to do so. ANVIL is very sorry for any inconvenience
this has caused. They plan on heading to Brazil in August 2006. The
shows will be put on by Rock Brigade.

Here it goes man:

Here's the info you need in portuguese:

As datas agendadas para a turnê brasileira foram canceladas devido aos
problemas com o promotor Marco Rios. Ele havia prometido o pagamento
das passagens ao Brasil, mas não cumpriu com o acordo.
O ANVIL pede desculpas por qualquer inconveniência causada, mas a banda
planeja ir ao país em agosto de 2006. Os shows acontecerão com apoio da
Rock Brigade.

If you mean that Rock Brigade will be the responsible for the shows in
august the text is correct!

Glad to help you man!

Long live the might ANVIL!

"The Terminal"? Wow, it's the best news that I read on this page, so
far! I'm glad that Anvil will return in Brazil in August.
