ELECTRYFYING STRING QUARTET
ETHEL
MAY 9th @ THE ROSE STUDIO, Lincoln Center
exclusively FOR TEENS

For the first-time ever, the Chamber Music
Society of Lincoln Center has assembled a diverse voice to
speak out for teenagers, initiating the first step in a grand campaign to
attract a
concrete teenage audience. A committee of students from all over the
Tri-State
area has carefully designed programs to conquer an increasingly tarnished
image
of a dying art, and re-establish its presentation in a fresh and stimulating
oomph.
This highly-anticipated “Ethel” concert for teens only will launch the
beginning
of a long line of new and exciting projects...

Ethel is sweeping New York off its feet, emerging as a powerful musical voice
in the City’s ever-evolving concert scene. This all-star cast of four—Ralph
Harris (viola), Dorothy Lawson (cello), Todd Reynolds (violin), and Mary
Rowell (violin)—has stretched itself far past the limits of taste, genre,
and style
to embrace a music that transcends the context of our time. Since the
group’s
appearance in 1998, Ethel has brought together an exciting, beautiful, and
rare
combination of tastes and talents, drawing from each member’s own unique
experiences. Members of Ethel have performed and/ or recorded with Bang On A
Can, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Orpheus Chamber
Orchestra, the New York Chamber Symphony, The Steve Reich Ensemble and
with artists Sheryl Crow, Reba McEntire and Yo-Yo Ma among many others.
