Hello Family & Friends:

Just a note to let you know that Justin and his wife, Tyree, are the proud parents of a beautiful, healthy baby boy.  Mark David Russell was born on June 12, 2007 at 8:13 PM, weighed 8 lbs. 13.6 oz. and was 22" long.  Needless to say, Justin and Tyree are very proud parents and this Grandma is especially happy and proud as well. 

 

Being invited by Tyree & Justin to share in the birth of Mark David is probably one of the most exciting and meaningful things that have happened to me.  The phone call from Tyree, the evening before Mark was born, when she called and asked me if I would like to be in the delivery room made me especially happy and meant so very much.  Being there, however, was an ultimate experience.  I'm so glad that I did not pass up the opportunity to share in the birth of Baby Mark.  My son and his wife were having a child and it was such an important life event.  I already had a good relationship with Tyree, but this experience, I'm confident, will make us even closer, perhaps because we have now shared that miracle of birth that only women can fully understand.  What a very personal introduction to my new grandson.

 

This experience definitely demonstrated to me, as nothing else ever could,  how much I am loved by Justin and his wife and by their willingness to invite to me share in the most wonderful and private experience. 

 

I am happy to share this exciting news, especially with all of you.  Oh, the miracle of childbirth!!
