My Candid Conversation with Producer Jack Douglas   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #103 of 692 |
Be nice to get this list going again. Some of you may know I'm good friends
with
Rick (Dufay) and that I know Jack D. too. Well Jack just gave me the OK to
post this very candid Q&A session I put together after talking to him.
First, a few disclaimers. This was not an "interview" but rather a candid
hour-long conversation. I asked Jack if I could convert the relative portions
of our conversation into an online Q&A for fans to read and he liked the
idea. Sounds easy enough right? Ha! Anyway, it's finally done. Some of you
may be a bit surprised by his candid nature and honesty. A few of you may
even be offended. But that's what I like about him. He has not let the music
industry change who he is and what he believes in and it is always a pleasure
to talk to him. He did not say anything to me that he has not
already said to Steven and the rest of the guys, the industry folks, etc.
Jack used to remain fairly positive about virtually everything Aero when
talking to me. But guess what? He's a fan just like the rest of us. Those
guys are good friends of his and he cares about all five of them very much.
I plan to do all I can to support him giving it a shot with the whole band
writing if the opportunity presents itself.

The best part about all of this? After you read the Q&A, you can email Jack
directly. I helped him setup a new email account for fans to write to him
directly. He wants to hear from you! So don't hold back! I would hope all
fans not shy about posting openly on message boards and mailing lists like
this about how they feel about Aerosmith 2002, will indeed write to Jack. He
values the opinion of fans a lot (unlike others in the business LOL). Feel
free to share your thoughts on his current and past work, ask questions about
the recording/producing process, etc. And be sure to post your thoughts on
the Q&A here too so I will know I didn't do all of this work for nothing!

The Q&A is 3 pages. There is a link at the bottom of each page to take you to
the next along with one to Jack's email address. Here is the link to Page 1:

ENJOY! AND DON'T FORGET TO POST YOUR INPUT HERE AND WRITE TO JACK TOO!
