Description

This group is for people interested in Afro-Cuban dance and music. We welcome discussions about different forms of Afro-Cuban dance/music from Orisha to Rumba to Son, as well as listings of classes, festivals, teachers and other opportunities for hands-on learning.

We also encourage you to register for the upcoming IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance & Music Festival in Miami, FL, from July 18-20, 2008. For more info, see www.ife-ile.org.

NOTE: This group was "on hiatus" for awhile, and during this time spammers were able to join and abuse it. This no longer the case. We now require approval for membership (just a couple sentences explaining your interest in Afro-Cuban dance/music) and will immediately ban all spammers who sneak in! We want this to be a welcoming place for discussions among folks with a serious interest in Afro-Cuban culture.
