HI all, I'm new, I first heard got wind of the moving power of Amy
Mann's music after borrowing a copy of "I'm with stupid" from my
local library (circa 1998).
I'd seen her on BBC2TV in the UK performing an accoustic solo of
Jacob Marleys Chain - being of that singer/songwriter bent I went and
borrowed a copy of the only album I could find - I was to young to
purchase it.
"I'm with stupid" remains my favourite ammie mann ablum to this day,
whether its a case of the first taste of fruit I don't know - but
songs like "Ray", "amatuer", "make a killing" and "your with stupid"
and her voice and subtle phrasing melt me to this day.
I was lucky enough to catch her at the Manchester academy in July
2002, she was witty, enchanting and as vocally sublime as on record.
Karlos.
