Good-Bye Old Friend

Today we must say good-bye,
for you must go away,
according to old Father Time,
you can no longer stay.

You have given us sorrow,
you have made us cry,
you have given us joy,
you have made us sigh.

You have taken the lives,
of family and friends,
you have stayed with us,
as each heart mends.

You have led us,
one day at a time,
some filled with pain,
some were sublime.

You helped us celebrate,
bringing families near,
filling us with happiness,
giving us good cheer.

Now the time has come,
to send you into our past,
taking with you our memories,
making them last and last.

We want to say "Thank You",
for all that you have done,
making the year Two Thousand and Six,
a very special one.
