Last evening, November 5 (Guy Fawkes night in England), a very
wintery eve here in Canada, Alley and the band went into Turtle
Recording studio to capture, live-off-the-floor, 6 songs for the
season ( :
These tracks include traditional carols, and not-so-traditional
songs, all interpreted, even redefined, through the artistry of
Alley, Dave and Kevin. Along with tunes hundreds of years old,
there's modern songs written by Leonard Cohen, The Rolling Stones,
and Sarah McLachlan.
This is a project that the band has been working on, at home, with
Stacy Burke, for the past few weeks. These new recordings will be
released later this month as Tidings ~ the first disc to bear the
Rubenesque label :D
Right now, as a preview, Alley has posted the first track in two
different size mp3s. To hear her version of Leonard
Cohen's "Hallelujah", go to:

This was recorded on the first take ~ as were all the solo songs.
Enjoy!!! I'll have more detail on Tidings next week.
Peace and cheers, Adrian
