I am welcoming an extra day this month - for, I've been down with a
flu/cold for all of February.
It's been that kind of season, and, with March almost here, I'm
looking forward to Spring-ing forward ( :
Musically, it's the best of times.
Allison has recorded vocals and piano for more than an album's worth
of songs. And, she's written two new songs just this week - "Going
Home Tonight" and "Head to Heart".
No doubt, it helps that Alley now has a beautiful acoustic piano in
her Newfoundland home. This means there's one on Canada's
west/Pacific coast and another instrument on the east/Atlantic coast
for her playing and creating.
We're not sure when it'll be time to release the next album. There's
lots of additional sounds Allison is hearing - from band to full
orchestra - and, this makes for a new kind of project.
Happily, we're also finding that the 70 to 100 or more songs that
she's already released are continually being discovered and
rediscovered, so, in this age of a global, online, community -
experience is more of a circular than linear thing. Making timeless
music, it's not old, new, or anything - it's simply loved ( :
The "Tidings" DVD version of Hallelujah now has over one million
views on YouTube. Viewing numbers and download numbers are now in
the millions overall, and, it's wonderful knowing that the dream of
getting the music "out there" is a big reality - every day!
Once my energy picks up - and my head's a bit more clear - I'll have
some more specific word on music and concerts happening. There's two
trips to Europe on Allison's calendar for 2008. Plus, we're aiming
to start solving the US Visa puzzle, so there can be more of a flow
into America. West-coast Canada, East-coast Canada shows are already
happening. We're due to land in the middle, as well, once we can
manage it. Sorta like an old Grand Funk Railroad song... we're
coming to your town, that sort...
ok, back to my tea and vitamins
Happy Spring!!
