RE: [Allison Crowe] new recording of Disease + tour dates coming, and more everything!
Hey Adrian, Hey Alley!
Hi how ya been? Remember me? John MacMillan, the Audioarchivist, Condor's friend
and your old live recorder guy....
Just thought I'd drop a line to say congrats on all the stuff I've heard about
that's gone on in the last while. I was really impressed with the Lennon concert
in Scotland! Right on.
I'm still here up on Denman Island for a while. I'm thinking finally about a big
move to Vancouver again, but hey who knows when that can really happen. It's
like there's nowhere to live over there right now or something!
Hey I've been on TV a lot lately! I've been Skype calling in to Tom Green's
House Tonight. Do you remember who Tom Green is? Yeah that's him... He's been
doing a talkshow from his livingroom in LA for about almost 2 years now. Yeah
from his livingroom. Anyway he's been on the Comedy Network in Canada recently,
and I've been on the show 3 times so far. I talked to Eric Roberts, Brian Austin
Green, and Rob Schneider and Haylie Duff. Fun times. Check it out at
TomGreen.com
Right now they're preparing to load up an RV with live broadcast capability
(full portable TV studio that can go live from anywhere), and go on the road to
who knows where yet. There's sort of a contest happening to convince him to
"come to your town" and do a TV show live on the Web-O-Vision. There's been lots
of Vancouver Island buzz going on. Hey it could happen - he might make his wacky
way here!
Hey this is a shot in the dark, but if it happens and he does make Vancouver
Island a part of the Web-O-Vision Cross North America Tour, well I dunno, would
Alley want to play on the show?
I'm not sure it's gonna happen, but the last time I talked to Tom, it all seemed
like it might be going this way (north), so if I hear something I'd like to
maybe plan something...
Check it (and me) out at TomGreen.com --no www before it-- just TomGreen.com
all his last 2 months shows are archived and easily watchable anytime. Check me
out in the DepuTV section, too.
Anyway, hope this finds you ALL doing well and healthy, and maybe I'll see y'all
again one day. Let's make a bootleg again! Have you heard from Condor again
lately?
take care!
-John

Subject: [Allison Crowe] new recording of Disease + tour dates coming, and more
everything!
Yes, more everything lies ahead for us all! Hopefully most of it
good!!
Pleasure to have you join us, James! I am now somewhere it's
possible to have a cuppa tea, and sit down. Show nights, I am
frazzled beyond... Thanks for making it out, in person, and online!
Welcome, cheers, and hello all ( :
Here's to Spring, in the northern hemisphere, and Fall's arrival in
the southern. Hard to know what season it is in these parts - it
snowed yesterday!!
I'll have to check to see if I've posted recently about Allison's
recording of new songs. There's 22 now, vocals and piano, recorded
by Alley - which translates into at least another CD album or two,
and, no doubt, several song downloads to come before then. About
half of these new recordings are sonically good to go - in the same
way as those on This Little Bird, Secrets, Tidings, Live at Wood
Hall...
And, there's half the songs that Allison hears as sonically
accompanied by a variety of musical instruments, including strings.
So, the search is on for the right players and the right opportunity
to fully realize these songs on record.
At this moment, we have a new, live, recording of Disease. This song
grows continually - and, as it's now sounding distinct from the
version heard on "Live at Wood Hall", there's been so many requests
for it to be available for iPods and other players, that, it was
recorded earlier this month - on International Women's Day - when
Alley performed at the Turtle Recording Studios 20th Anniversary
Party in White Rock, B.C. Canada.
Choose whichever of these different size files is best to play
and/or download on your computer:

Whichever version you choose, play it loud! You can even hear
Allison stomping her feet on this recording. Enjoy ( :
