Here's to Spring, in the northern hemisphere, and Fall's arrival in
the southern. Hard to know what season it is in these parts - it
snowed yesterday!!

I'm not sure how customary an intro on here is, but I will do one anyway...

My name is James Powell, I'm a Fumbler transplant, having been on FTE since
1996. I've been intro'd to some fantastic artists via FTE & people on there.
Adrian kept on about Alley on FTE, and some other fumblers had positive things
to say. I picked up "Secrets" in October (at Lyles Place in Victoria), and got
hooked.

As my background- I'm a 31 year old Marine Engineer Technician serving aboard
HMCS Protecteur in the Canadian Navy. I've lived on Vancouver Island for 7
years, before that I spent 20 months in St John's, NL, and then before that
Victoria, and "home" is Elliot Lake, Ontario. I live in Shirley, BC, west of
Sooke (& without a piano in our local hall...).

I went and saw Alley at ArtSpring last Sat. She has quite the voice live,
being remarkably akin to the record (the record, of the event, of people making
music...)(*). This is a giant suprise compared with so many "artists" who I
have seen. I think that I am preaching to the converted, but I'd highly
recommend seeing her live.
