diagrams and strings?   Message List

Is there a site on the internet that has the diagrams/plans for a
alto-guitar? I have been thinking of having a luthier I have used
many times make me an altoguitar. I want to be able to show him the
dimensions and bracing patterns. I do have some photographs to show
him, but that isn't really enough.

Also, what kind of strings are used for an altoguitar? I assume they
are lower tension than regular guitar strings -- being a shorter
length. Are the basses that are with the extensions successively
larger diameter, or are they the same thing -- and the extension
provides the needed extra tension to prevent the string from becoming
too loose.

Sorry if all these questions have been asked and answered before.
