-->KERNELS OF COOL...
(Wednesday, September 14, 2005)
Some more info on the upcoming promotional activity:
THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW featuring JON BON JOVI will debut on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER
21. This is syndicated so you'll need to check your local listings. The entire
one-hour is dedicated to Jon and the band and marks their first ever visit to
Chicago and Oprah's world. It was an incredible experience. Interviews,
performance and pre-taped footage. ** PLEASE -- many fans were in the audience
and know what took place at the taping. We are asking you to kindly refrain from
posting the details online and sharing it... once it airs, we're sure you'll all
have lots to talk about!!!
Also on SEPTEMBER 21st, BON JOVI will visit the NYC studios to hang with HOWARD
STERN. They will be interviewed and they will perform as well. Tune in beginning
at about the 8:00am hour...
On SEPTEMBER 20th, there will be extensive radio as part of the STREET DATE
program where the band does live phoners to stations all over the U.S. A final
list of stations will be posted closer to the date.
NOKIA THEATRE TIMES SQUARE Tickets go on sale to the General Public this
Saturday via www.ticketmaster.com only. Fair warning: these are gonna go fast -
it is a small venue and the christening of a new theatre.
Continue to visit www.smirkwatch.com -- some of the places we've found the red
blockhead are incredible. Great work - really creative! Also, if you're in NYC,
check out TIME OUT Magazine for a full page ad for the NOKIA event Monday... and
also check out VILLAGE VOICE as well. And check out the BILLBOARD issue due to
hit stands Friday/Monday coming up... big ad plus there should be a major
feature as well... All the promotional activity and press the band has been
doing the past few months is beginning to turn up. While we get some details on
magazines and papers covering the band internationally, we often don't have
details. For example, one writer from Germany may interview Jon and out of that
one hour comes two dozen pieces in all sorts of publications... so the best
thing to do is keep your eyes and ears open locally.
