Dear UN Representative, Security Council member and Staff ,

We OPPOSE any future, possible Oil Sanction against Sudan.
Any type of OIL or Economic Sanction against the Sudanese
Government will only make the matter worse and it will have
a far reaching impact on the world economy too.

SUDAN NEEDS ASSISTANCE, NOT SANCTIONS :
The Darfur crisis started in February 2003 when militia and black
African farmers clashed with each other over scarce resources.
The crisis in Darfur, western Sudan, is a problem caused by many
complicated factors ranging from historical issues, tribal and religious
differences, refugees as well as poverty, which could not be solved
within a short period of time.
What the Sudanese government needs to solve the crisis is "Assistance"
from the international community instead of vicious Sanctions.
An important article from People's Daily today said :
" To resolve the Darfur issue at an early date, the US and the EU
should sincerely lend their helping hands, instead of being motivated
by a certain kind of political aim to engage in reckless talk about
sanctions or threatening with sanctions. Facts have long proved
that more often than not sanctions cannot resolve problems."

SUDAN DARFUR CRISIS IS IMPROVING. :
Unlike the U.S. governement and western "media" propaganda, actually
other media are reporting the crisis in Sudan has greatly improved.
The Sudanese government had accelerated its efforts to disarm the
rebels, which had paved the way for humanitarian access to the troubled
region and eased tension there. In addition, the African Union (AU)
also sent observers to the area. With the joint efforts by Sudan, the
AU and United Nations, the situation in Darfur has been improving.

THERE ARE KILLINGS IN DARFUR, NOT "GENOCIDE" :
The severe poverty and diseases strike the area, but not "genocide".
The European Union said in August No evidence was found on genocide
taking place in Darfur. "We are not in the situation of genocide there,"
Pieter Feith, who visited Sudan on behalf of the EU foreign affairs chief
Javier Solana, leading an EU fact-finding mission in the region

In fact, there are far more people killed "each year" in the US because
of Gun deaths than the total people killed in Darfur. In US, each year
has nearly 43,000 Americans killed by guns. Can it be categorized as
"Genocide" ? The United States leads the world's richest nations in
gun deaths -- murders, suicides, and accidental deaths due to guns .

Should the UN impose "Oil " Sanctions against the U.S. due to the
massive number of gun deaths ? If there is no UN sanction against
US for massive number of "gun deaths", then it would be Unfair to
impose any type of economic or Oil sanctions against Sudan and its people.

OIL SANCTION HAS A VICIOUS FAR REACHING IMPACT :
Sudan's major export is its Oil. China, India , Malaysia...etc.
have oil developments in southern Darfur. The US draft of possible
sanctions against Sudan 's OIL industry will not only further hurt
Sudanese people but also jeopardize many countries economy
including many Asian countries, the US , and European countries.
Any "Oil" Sanction on Sudan will have the following vicious impact :

1: The World Oil Price will Rise further. It would hurt the
economy in the US, EU and the rest of the World.

2: Sudan's oil is a major source for China.
China's AUTO market is extremely important to US, Asia and
many European countries. China's fast growing automobile market is
shared mainly by the US, Japan and European automobile companies .
For example : General Motors, Volkswagen... etc. have the
biggest shares in China's auto market.

If OIL supply to China is obstructed, then Chinese people will
reduce their purchase of Cars. Then giants like GM, Ford,
Volkswagen, Chrysler.....etc. in China will sell significantly fewer
cars to the Chinese.
It would impact GM, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen....profits in
China. Their stock values will drop. If their stock values drop,
it will definitely have a negative impact on the entire stock market.
It then will further reduce the economy not only in Asia but also in
US and European continent.

Therefore, to obstruct China or India or Malaysia or any country's
Oil needs would hurt US and EU's own economic interests in those
countries. In fact, any UN attempt to obstruct any country's OIL
imports and exports will have a negative impact to the World Economy.
Therefore, we ask the UN Security Council to reject any
proposal to place any type of potential OIL Sanction against Sudan.

We ask the U.S. and EU countries to aid those refugees in Sudan
and give as much aid for the Sudanese government to gradually
get the violence subdued. Patience, Cooperation and Aid
are the Keys in solving the Sudan Crisis now.
