SAMPLE LETTER : (Please place your Name, City, State, and
Name of your Country at the Beginning and End of your letter. Thanks.)
NOTE: The following Sample Letter is based on our opinions
and published information.

From: Your Name,
Your City,
Your State, Your Zip Code
Subject: PLEASE STOP PUNISHING CHINA.
Dear Mr. President,
We thank and praise our President to protect millions
of American consumers from the harmful "protectionism".
However, we, as Citizens and VOTERS, are Outraged at
some Anti-China extremists planning to block ALL Chinese
imports by using illegal high tariff. We urge our President
and our Congress to STOP imposing any type of sanction or
ILLEGAL high tariff like those in the bill proposed by Sen.
Charles Schumer and Lindsey Graham with a 27.5 % Tariff on
ALL China's imports or to force China to dangerously change
its Currency drastically. Their Act is a Violation of WTO .
We ask our Congress to greatly REDUCE these two
dangerous extreme members' POWER in our Congress.
We urge our President and the Administration to STOP any
vicious intention to label China as a "Currency Manipulator".
China is NOT a manipulator. Instead, it is those Anti-China
members who wants to manipulate China's economy as well as
America's own. The Eye for an Eye policy will not help America !!!
We will NOT VOTE for any of the Congress members who
intend to vote to punish China's imports with high tariff or any
type of sanction. We will also urge all of our friends, relatives
and all Associations' members to do the same by NOT voting
for them. To punish Chinese "Imports" is to punish American
Consumers. (= American Voters.) .
While Sen. Charles Schumer was preparing his bill to strike China
with nearly 30 % of tariff , Sen. Max Baucus is also preparing for
another bill to punish China. What we are very concerned about is
that Sen. Schumer and Sen. Baucus are all the members of "Taiwan
Caucus" which is connected to the Formosan Association for Public
Affairs (FAPA). FAPA appears to be a covert agency of Chen
ShuiBien's anti-China Separatist government in Taiwan.
TRADING FIGURE IS A BIG LIE and MUST BE REFORMED!!
$ 202 BILLION TRADE DEFICIT with CHINA IS A BIG LIE !!!
First of all, All products and services produced by all the
American companies operating in China should be and must be
counted as American Exports to China. How can you say that
McDonalds or Coca Cola or Wal -Mart ....or GE or GM or Ford or
Goldman Sachs or HP or Dell ..... in China are NOT American's
Exports to China ??? If counting all of the products and
services produced by all these 50,000 American companies
operating in China , then America will have HUGE TRADE SURPLUS
WITH CHINA !!
Further, at least 30 % of All "made in China" Imports to the
US are made from American companies in China. How can you
count such American companies imports to our own country
as Chinese "Exports" ?? That is simply UNFAIR and WRONG !!
Further, according to Chinese official records that the trade
surplus with the U.S. was about $ 100 billion in 2005, NOT
$ 202 billion as the US government claimed. Because nearly
half of them left ports from Hong Kong instead of the ports
from mainland China. However, Hong Kong and mainland
China appear to be economically unrelated each other.
Sadly, our government is playing with the FAKE Trade "Figures"
to provoke, strike and weaken China. Meanwhile the world has
proceeded to a Global Economy, however, our Trading statistics
regime is still staying the same way we calculated it 200 years
ago!! IT IS SO WRONG. It is PROVOKING the TRADE WAR and
HIDING THE TRADE TRUTH.
CHINA JUST MADE A HUGE CHANGE ON CURRENCY:
Only a few months ago, in July 2005, China had just abandoned
its decades old peg with the U.S. "dollar". This is a huge change
in currency for a country with 1/5 of the World population and a
huge change for a country is converting itself from a different
financial and political system towards a democratic regime.
CHINA IS OPEN TO the US. The US BLOCKS CHINA.:
Perhaps as many as 50,000 American companies operating
in China. However, we do not see more than a few Chinese
companies operating in the U.S. at all !! Our Congress puts up
all kinds of political blocks to reject Chinese Bids for US
companies in the excuse of "national security". China's
CNOOC's $ 18 Billion dollars failed bid for Unocal is still a
vivid example. America has $ 12 Trillion dollars "Foreign Assets"
which is equivalent to about 6 times of China's entire country's
GDP in 2005. How can our Congress accuse China not opening
to American businesses ?? The two way Free Trade and
Investment have become a one way street with Double
Standards and Discrimination against China.
A STABLE YUAN PAVES the WAY FOR CONVERTIBILITY :
We are not talking about a few million population which
they can change their currency or reform overnight. China
needs more time to reform their weak Financial system first.
Further, drastic change on Chinese currency with their vulnerable
old financial system will endanger America and the World's
Economy. Xiaogeng, a professor in the School of Economics and
Finance at the University of Hong Kong said that reforming China's
Inefficient Banking system is the first step in easing the trade
surplus. Xiao said the decision to maintain a stable Renminbi
is far-sighted and pragmatic. It will shield speculation risks
and pave the way for the Renminbi's ultimate Convertibility in
China's capital account.
From all reports we read, we do see that China is making major
efforts to reform its financial system and currency system now.
China's vulnerable Stock market is only a couple of years old.
For a country with such size, we urge our Government to be
Patient with China's gradual reform.

AMERICAN CONSUMERS ARE BIGGEST BENEFICIARY.
Meantime, the truth is that millions of American Consumers
and Voters are benefiting from China's affordable Imports at
an unprecedented level. Chinese affordable imports has saved
Americans more than $ 600 billion dollars according to some
financial institution's research. Chinese affordable imports
have made American Consumers' (VOTERS') "Real Income" increase.
That is part of the reason why America's Economy is still so
powerful. America now has 4.8 % Unemployment rate, the
lowest in years. China contributed a lot to those good figures.
CHINA'S CURRENCY CHANGE WILL NOT CHANGE
U.S. TRADE DEFICIT NOR INCREASE U.S. JOBS.:
There are more than 90 % of all Chinese imports are NOT
produced in the United States any more. Therefore, to use an
excessive Tariff to block ALL Chinese imports will NOT stop
American importers from searching for other low cost countries.
Therefore, any dangerous drastic Chinese currency rise will
NOT change America's Trade Deficit with the rest of the world.
In other words, the "made in China" will be simply becoming
"made in Philippines", "made in Malaysia", "made in Indonesia" ...."
However, those other low labor cost countries all have higher
costs structure than China. It will end up that the final real
victim is the millions of American Consumers. (American Voters).
Therefore, drastically raising Chinese Currency rate will NOT
improve America's Trade Deficit NOR increase America's
manufacturing Jobs at all .
Stephen Roach, Chief Economist for Morgan Stanley, stated
lately that "The imposition of tariffs on Chinese goods would
simply mean that the trade deficit would gravitate to another
foreign country, and most likely with a "Higher Cost " structure."
"Such a shift in America's external sourcing would amount to
the functional equivalent of a TAX on the American Consumer,"
HIGH TARIFF IMPACT COULD HIT BACK TO AMERICA.
On the contrary, such an Unfriendly and Hostile act to punish
Chinese could have a very dangerous adverse effect to America's
own Economy. Such hostile attitudes to China could cause
Chinese people to refuse to buy American goods even after U.S.
goods artificially become cheaper, Not to mention that China is
the number 2 country in the world to own billions dollars of US
Treasury notes and debts. Please do not forget that China is
also the number 2 country in the world holding billions of U.S.
"Dollars Reserve" . To be FAIR , we believe that high tariff
would have the identical and equivalent act from the Chinese too.
HIGH TARIFF WILL HURT U.S. COMPANIES SEVERELY :
Further, 1/3 of all the "Made in China" goods are owned by
thousands of American companies who are operating in China.
Using a high tariff to block all Chinese imports is actually
blocking U.S. own multi-national companies' exports and it will
hurt thousands of U.S. companies as well as America's Economy.
SOME REASONS BEHIND TRADE DEFICITS :
AMERICA needs to BE COMPETITIVE in the world.
We think the following are reasons behind the US trade
deficits and reduced exports :
1: The US Congress forbids most of the High Tech exports
to China despite the great needs of the Chinese society.
Those schizophrenic anti-China Congressional members treat
China with hatred and discrimination. They instigate many
other ignorant congressional members to punish China .
Those anti-China Congressional members are Not Economic
experts at all. On the contrary, many of those members are
linked to Taiwanese Separatist government ! To strike China
appears to be their Number 1 JOB in the US Congress .
2 : The US WAGE Structure is severely HYPED and Not
competitive in the World. The U.S. Congress continues to let
ALL the U.S. wages and bonuses to rise to an astronomical
level. For example: 45 Millions of Americans can NOT afford
to pay their own Health Care or Insurance. A medical X-ray
CT - Scan or MRI will cost more than $ 3,000 dollars for
just a couple of minutes service. The Congress Ignores it.
OUR CONCLUSION :
Richard N. Haass, a former Director of Policy Planning in the
U.S. Department of State at the Brookings Institution stated that :
" Our goal should be to Integrate China into the international
system, to make it a Pillar of the global establishment. ......."
" ... What's important is that U.S. exports to China ENJOY
FAIR ACCESS and that disputes are settled by the World
Trade Organization. What we want to Avoid is having Trade
becoming a source of Friction rather than Integration." .
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/chinagate/doc/2006-03/22/content_549233.htm
Deputy US Trade Representative Karan Bhatia said that China
deserves CREDIT for making substantial Reforms as part of its
WTO commitments. The fact is that China joined WTO only
in 2001. Within 5 short years, China, with 1/5 of the world
population, has converted itself from a Centralized Communist
Economy to a near Market Economy. Such huge change is
astronomical and it takes tremendous courage and determination
from Chinese new leaders like President Hu Jintao and Premier
Wen Jia Bao. We urge our Government to praise China
instead of punishment and rejection.
There are thousands of American companies operating in
China. They need sufficient ENERGY and a sound, healthy
Financial system there as well as a huge middle class group of
consumers. And if the number of China's middle class shrinks,
China will not be able to afford America's products and services.
Today, we live in a Global Economy. Any major part of the
Global Economy that is weakened will endanger the entire World.
Any trade punishment will be reciprocal equally and fairly .
We must remind our government that any large Punishment on
China's Imports could provoke and force China to CLOSE ITS DOOR
ENTIRELY to all the U.S. products, services and investments .
We also ask FCC (Federal Communication Commission) and
GAO (General Accounting Office) to revoke CNN Lou Dobbs License.
Everyday,we see Dobbs dangerously INSTIGATE among millions of
American viewers to "HATE" China !! Dobbs purposely interviews
all those Anti-China extremists in his program to strike China.
He labels China as "Red Storm" and instigates that China is a
"threat" to America frequently. It appears that he is connected
to all of the Anti-China extremists and Anti-China Taiwanese
Separatists too.
We wonder would it be fair for China also to do the same thing
to educate 1.3 billion Chinese to hate America and label America
as a "Fire Storm" ?? Is that what our government likes to see ??
We urge our President please do NOT be Instigated by all
of those Anti-China Extremists and Haters from the Pentagon,
or the State Department.
In our opinion, Hostility, Discrimination, Punishment and
severe Containment on China could pose serious negative
impact on America's interests. Our government must realize
the US-CHINA RELATIONSHIP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL
not only in the 21st century but also in countless years
to come. Only Peace, Respect and Equality will benefit
each other. Thank you.
