============================================================
SAMPLE LETTER : (Please place your Name, City, State, and
Name of your Country at the Beginning and End of your letter.
Thanks.)
NOTE: The following Sample Letter is based on our opinions
and published information.
---------------------------------------------------------------
From: Your Name,
Your City,
Your State, Your Zip Code
Subject: CITIZENS' PLEA ON US-CHINA RELATIONSHIP.
Dear Mr. President,
We are very concerned. We have heard some hostile rhetoric
against China lately on the eve of Chinese President Hu Jintao's
visit to the U.S. Most appear to be related to China's trade
surplus with the United States.
We, as concerned Citizens and Voters, would like to present
our following FIVE PLEAS and Opinions to our President
and our Congress :
1: Please give a good, friendly WELCOME to any Chinese President
visiting the United States including President Hu Jintao.
In our opinion, to welcome a Chinese President is to welcome
the 1.3 billion Chinese people. To discriminate against a Chinese
President is to discriminate against the 1.3 Billion Chinese.
Further, President Hu has been continuously making a great effort
in the North Korea Nuclear issue to help our government's concerns.
President Hu deserves our country's respect and highest greeting.
We also urge that our government please respect China's concerns.
Please do Not press or force Chinese leaders to sign or validate
any agreement or making any type of unreasonable concessions
which may jeopardize China's own national security concerns.
If America is concerned about its national "interests" and
national "security", then China should also have the same
Rights for their own concerns too.
2: CHINA HAS AS MUCH AS $ 80 BILLION DOLLARS TRADE DEFICIT
WITH THE U.S. IN 2005.
According to some Chinese reports, an experienced Chinese Diplomat
Wu Chien Min said lately that American media have emphasized the
$ 202 billion dollars trade deficit with China. However, that figure
is wrong and exaggerated. He pointed out that America IS IGNORING
ALL the HIDDEN FIGURES of the US-CHINA TRADE. Such "Hidden Figures"
is far more than China's Trade Surplus with our country.
Wu said that 30,000 American companies operating in China are
selling more than $ 75 billion dollars of goods and services
to Chinese customers in 2005. Such huge amounts were totally
Ignored in the American Exports to China. (* We wonder how
many Chinese companies are allowed by our Congress to
operate in the U.S. ?? )
Also One Third (1/3) of the Total Chinese Export to the U.S.
are the products from those 30,000 American companies in China,
which is equivalent to another $ 75 billion dollars.
Such a huge figure should have been subtracted from the Chinese
Total Exports to the U.S. Instead, our government erroneously
added this huge figure to the Chinese Total Exports to the U.S.
The above two major items added together to $ 150 billion
dollars which should have been subtracted from the Chinese
Trade surplus figure with the United States to reflect the
TRUE TRADE DIFFERENCES.
Unlike the U.S. erroneous calculation, the Chinese export
figure accurately Excludes all other countries exports to
the U.S. thru Chinese Hong Kong international port.
According to China's detailed calculation of trade figures,
China had only a $ 100 billion dollars Trade Surplus with
the U.S. in 2005, instead of the $ 202 Billion dollars as our
government erroneously claimed.
Therefore, using such $ 100 billion dollars Trade Surplus
and subtracting the above $ 150 billion dollars adjustment, the
result is ( - $ 50 billion dollars). In other words, China in
2005 actually has at least $ 50 billion dollars TRADE DEFICIT
with the U.S. including all the "HIDDEN" figures.
Further, according to Chinese diplomat Wu Chien Min, all
Chinese companies have to pay "unlimited" "Royalty Fee" to
numerous American companies for their "Wisdom Property"
(know-how) which is included in numerous products which are
either exported to the U.S. from China and/or sold in China.
In our opinion, such estimated figure for "Royalty fee" could
be as much as $30 Billion Dollars a year for the U.S. companies.
Therefore, using the above ( - $ 50 billion dollars) subtract
another $ 30 billion dollars of the royalty fee paid to American
companies, China actually has a TRADE DEFICIT with the
U.S. for as much as $ 80 Billion Dollars in 2005.
In other words, American companies truly exported
more than $ 80 Billion dollars goods and services to China
in 2005 comparing to all of the Chinese Exports to the U.S.
In today's complicated, interweaven global economy, a simple
"Trade" figure simply can not reflect the TRUTH of the Trades
between the countries. Therefore, despite China's huge "Dollar
Reserve", China does have a Huge Trade Deficit with America
IF one accurately considers all the true, Hidden figures in
the US-China Trades.
3: CHINA'S RELIGION and HUMAN RIGHTS:
We urge our Government please do not threaten or force
Chinese leaders on their Religion. In today's China, its rising
Prosperity Inspire its rising Spirituality. China now has officially
100 million Buddhists. Protestant CHRISTIANITY had 80 Million
followers and it is the FASTEST GROWING RELIGION in China.
We urge all members of our government to read this Investigative
article from the Christian Science Monitor on China's Religion :
http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0309/p01s04-woap.html
However, some evil people are abusing such freedom of the
religion to organize Anti Chinese government organizations
like the Falun Gong group is doing .
We ask our government, please do NOT fund the Falun Gong
group to sabotage Chinese Government. A healthy Chinese
government is in America and the World's "Interests".
Please remember : A weak China will also weaken America
and many other countries' Economy and weaken America's
many other "interests" in the World.
CHINA'S HUMAN RIGHTS: China's Human Rights has improved a great
deal. The Human Rights protection is enshrined in China's new
Constitution. China is planning to introduce a new law banning
police from using torture to extract confessions. The Xinhua
reports the Law on Penalties for Offences against Public Order,
effective from the beginning of last March will also bar evidence
obtained with threats from being used to pursue prosecutions.
http://abcasiapacific.com/news/stories/asiapacific_stories_1580725.htm
4: TAIWAN ISSUE: We OPPOSE One China/One Taiwan or Two Chinas!!!
All of the fanatic Separatism is intended to divide Chinese people
along the Taiwan Strait. To reject the uniting of Chinese people
along the Taiwan Strait will really go against the WILL of
1.3 Billion Chinese. It will jeopardize America's interests in
China and in the region. The Times have changed.
We urge our Government to make efforts to push the Unification
of all the Chinese along the Taiwan Strait. It is in America and
the World's "Interests" to see a Unified and a Prosperous China.
TAIWAN: PART OF CHINA FOR THOUSANDS YEARS.
References to this effect were in Seaboard Geographic Gazetteer
compiled more than 1,700 years ago by Shen Ying of the State of
Wu during the period of the famous Three Kingdoms. This was the
World's earliest written account of Taiwan. Please click History:
http://www.china.org.cn/english/taiwan/7891.htm
5: WHY IS THE POLL FIGURE DROPPING ?
We ask our President to invite John Snow to continue to be our
Secretary of Treasury. In our opinion, Sec. of Treasury Snow
has done a great job in our economy with 4.8 % low unemployment.
The recent low poll figures about the White House apparently
has nothing to do with the Economy nor has it anything to do
with Secretary of Treasury John Snow.
In our opinion, IF our government continues to insist on using
same type of Foreign Policy handled by the same group of the
Neo-Conservative leaders to impose their Arrogance, Prejudice,
Suppression, Double Standards and War on many countries
in the world, then our government POLL figures may continue
to go down and down .... regardless which Party is in Power.
It has nothing to do with the White House shake up at all.
It has ALL to do with our wrong Foreign Policy toward the
World. We do believe that when all those vicious factors are
removed from our government, the POLL will Rise for the
White House quickly no matter who or which party is in Power.
CNN Lou Dobbs again can not wait to degrade China even
before President Hu arrives in the U.S. soil. Dobbs continues
to label China with "RED STORM". It appears that Dobbs
continuous attacking China without giving any chance to the
other side to explain any misunderstanding or misperception.
We urge Mr. Dobbs' to remove his Hatred from his heart
and to become an impartial and peaceful journalist. We urge
Mr. Dobbs to visit China to understand China himself instead
of listening to the hearsay from some anti-China extremists.
We also urge all of our Congressional members to visit
China often for a more accurate view and understanding of
China. We do believe that China will be very grateful for that.
The US-China Relationship is indeed America's Most Important
Foreign Relations that our government must carefully protect,
Not abuse. "Equality" is the essence of a Democracy. We believe
that a Respectable, Equal and Fair Treatment each other is the
foundation of a solid permanent US-China Relationship.
IF our opinion is different from yours, we truly apologize.
Thanks for your efforts for World's Peace and Prosperity.
Sincerely,
Your Name,
Your City,
Your State, Your Zip Code
Your Country.
