am radio's great.<br><br>have a listen when you
get the chance.<br><br>and yes, i've heard of
sugarcult but never listened to them...i went to your site
and signed your guestbook and basically said what i
wanted to say there so there's no point in me repeating
a message here.<br><br>i [heart] elvis
costello.<br> and phantom planet.<br><br>and thanks for
inviting you friend to my club! we actually have 17
members now!<br><br>-diane
Hey, I'm a newbie. I've never heard AM Radio's
stuff yet (I'd listen to MP3's but my comp is fucked so
that won't work) but I'm sure I'll love the new
project ... considering that I was/still am into Ridel
High and Peel.<br><br>Hmm, let's see, bands I'm into:
Jimmy Eat World, Silver Jet, Summercamp, Nerf Herder,
Sugarcult, Foo Fighters, Cheap Trick, Weezer, Gwenmars, the
Ramones, the Clash, TSAR, Saves the Day ... and that's
plenty for now. ;)<br><br>Diane: Have you heard of
Sugarcult? I have a feeling you might like 'em because
they're (the singer, especially) very Elvis
Costello-influenced and do a rad cover of "No Action".<br><br>Anyway,
I just invited my friend to this club ... she's
been to a few AM Radio shows, maybe she can give some
quickie reviews when she joins. :)<br><br>-Allysa
yes, tapes, that would be good! anyone willing to
do that? because i haven't been to an am radio show
either...<br><br>am i missing out? i know am radio's good but i don't
know how they're like live. some bands can really suck
live...<br><br>-diane
how much was the cd? i'm sure it rocked [the
casbah]. because the tracks on the site are
great.<br><br>i would like to hear these new songs.<br><br>i love
"you saved my life."<br><br>what's your favorite song?
[by am radio]<br><br>-diane
Diane, <br> Thanks for the compliment on my taste in music. And no more ass
chewing, I'm done giving you a hard time. It's all in love, babe...<br>
*Anna*
I bought one last night at their Garage
show.<br>It's the same track listing as the demos they have on
their website. I'm sure it can be purchased by emailing
info@amradioonline. <br><br>A few of the tracks have been remixed
(maybe all of them to some degree)most noticeably, are
"You Saved My Life Last Night" and Heartattack", more
backing vocals, some handclaps added etc. <br><br>To
answer my own questions on an earlier posting, the album
credits Kevin Ridel with writing all the songs and AM
Radio with arranging them. <br><br>They also played two
new songs last night, which were so good... words
fail me. We can be certain, whatever else they release
in the future will only get better. <br><br>The
sound system at the garage last night was a mess,
serious problems. Still AM Radio played like they were
headlining the Staples Center and I'm convinced, had the
power gone out completely they would have kept on
playing. What POWER!
i cant answer all of them, but i know a couple of
answers to the questions...<br>-i'm pretty sure kevin
does alot of writing, but i'm not sure if the music
itself is written more as a band?<br>-i think he gave up
playing bass so he could concentrate more on his vocals..
you could see on these songs he really expands his
vocals than the vocals of ridel high.. <br>-i dont know
the answer to this one, but i always thought he'd
make a great addition to weezer. then again, his
vocals are far too good to just settle as a backup
singer?<br>-and i only know that Joe came from kevin's previous
band Peel, which had Steve Leroy on guitar.. they
recorded an album but it never got released by the label
which sucks caus' there were some great songs in
there.<br><br>thats' all i really know.. being in Florida, i've never
actually experienced a ridel high or amradio show, so i'm
waiting for the day that comes..
Let me introduce myself as a huge fan of AM
Radio. The fact is, I've only heard the ten songs they
have posted on their website, but d'ang! what else do
I need to hear? <br><br>I have really been into
Kevin Ridel's songs since "Ridel High" and was very
excited to hear his new music. But since I can't read
about them in Rolling Stone (yet, for that day will
come!)and I'm sure they would tire of me quickly if I
bothered them with such trivia at the shows: Who out there
may know answers to the following questions?
<br><br>1. Who writes AM Radio's songs, or who can be
credited for what songs? <br><br>2. When Kevin had no
problem playing bass and singing why has he given up bass
duties? <br><br>3. Has Kevin been approached to fill Matt
Sharp's old position during any of any of the =w= lineup
changes? <br><br>4. Where did Danny,Rowan, Jason, and Joe
come from, What bands have they been in before etc?
Hi all, <br> I enjoy listening to bands such as
The Cure, Depeche Mode, Morrissey, The Smiths,
Massive Attack, Radiohead, Travis, Nada Surf, Weezer,
Ozma, The Strokes, Bjork, Jeff Buckley, Sigur Ros,
etc.<br> *Anna* (I'm your official first member... you
deleted my post, you naughty girl)
hello. what other bands or types of music do you
9 members listen to? actually, 8 members since 9 is
including me...<br><br>phantom planet/weezer/misfits/elvis
costello/bad religion/strokes/sonic
youth/radiohead/rooney/cheap trick/the who/the kinks...<br><br>that's my list.
i probably have some more but can't think of them
right now.<br><br>-diane

Hey guys, was at the Ozma show on Friday and saw
our boys play, newly converted fan! I went to talk to
Kevin and Co. but as I was making my way backstage the

I just created this club. It's dedicated to the
power pop band, AM Radio. Their last show was 9th of
November at the Epicentre in San Diego, CA with Ozma.
Their next show is on Saturday, November 17, at the
Garage in Los Angeles, CA with
Crash.<br><br><a href=http://www.amradioonline.com
