Does anyone know if we are to have any UK releases. Or even if she plans to have
a visit here, bet she doesn't make it to Newcastle.

My wife came over to the computer the other day and said,
"You've been seeing this Rigby woman for a while now. Are
you in love with her?" "It's only been three times over the
past few years. And yes, I do love her as a performer and respect
her as a song writer." "OK," said my wife.

When I saw Amy for the third time last month, she finally capture me
as a committed fan. Now, I had heard a few songs off of Diary of a
Mod Housewife when it came out and enjoyed what I heard, but I never
picked up on it. Vin Scelsa, NYC's legendary free-form DJ,
played the heck out of Summer of My Wasted Youth back in 1998, which
really connected with me as I too had a story like that from way back
when. But still, I never picked up on Middlescence.

I finally saw Amy live back in January, 2001, with Mary Lee's
Corvette and Syd Straw; again about a year ago at new club in my
neighborhood and last month at Joe's Pub (each show was with a full
band). After the last show, I decided it was time to pick up
Amy's new album. That took several trips to NYC's J&R Music
as they were always sold out of Til the Wheels Fall Off when I
stopped in. Finally on about the fourth trip there, I got it. J&R
also had a copy of The Sugar Tree, and knowing it was out of print, I
picked that up as well.

I listened to both albums over June, and was amazed and gratified at
the musical diversity I found there. There was only one thing left
to do; get Mod Housewife and Middlescence, which I bought through
Amy's web site. I've been listening to all four albums over the
past two weeks and having just a great time. I guess 2003 is my
summer of Amy Rigby.
