Hi Everyone
Just a bit of news has a loosely connection of ABBA on the show called "Child Of Our Time" which will be screened in the UK on BBC1 at 8.00pm this Sunday 5th February. Below is the news release I have got as the show features Abba Tribute Band 'Arrival' who performed 'Waterloo' on the show.
Let me know what you think and if you take part in the interactive part of the show please let me know how you got on.
All the best
Kathryn
ABBA songs continue to capture the child of our time with 'Arrival's' help.
NEWS RELEASE
Top Abba tribute band "Arrival" will be featured in the award winning
BBC TV series "Child Of Our Time" this Sunday. They were asked to take part in an ongoing experiment to test young children's reaction to music and dance.
The show is presented by Professor Robert Winston, who is following the progress of a group of millennium babies, charting their growth and development and how they will integrate into society.
The latest episode is titled "Your Recipe For Success" and being an interactive programme, the viewer can take part in the experiment with pen and paper to hand or by pressing the red button on the remote control if you have digital TV.
"Arrival" proved to be a great
success with the children and ABBA songs have certainly captured their imagination as well as got their dancing feet tapping!
The group arrived in their glitzy Eurovision stage outfits and performed the song "Waterloo" in three different ways. But did the children notice the changes? That is something we will have to watch and find out the answer to on Sunday.
The band were chosen to appear in the show because of their professional reputation and musical ability. And singing live in front of an audience, no matter what their age, can be nerve racking to say the least, but "Arrival" loved every minute of it.
"We had
such a great time playing for the boys and girls. They were so excited and delightful to work with" says Natalie who plays red head Frida in the group.
"It's a nice break from touring, doing something different and an honour meeting Professor Winston; being part of a ground breaking show" said Vic who plays guitarist Bjorn.
Filming of "Arrival's" part in the show took most of the day. "They filmed us playing and singing 'Waterloo' quite a few times, doing different things each time to use with the interactive part of the show. I hope a lot of people will see the show and take part. It should be a lot of fun." said Mark, whilst the band's very own 'Agnetha' played by Sarah concluded: "I think it's quite a good experiment for the children.
It may make them listen to the music in a different way and perhaps encourage some of them to try playing or singing which can only be a good thing!"
In which case there is only one thing left to say by the children. 'Thank you for the music'.
