Re: [atloldtime] Bow Advice Sought

Mo - The K. Holtz Fiberglass bow is around $50 on line and has received good reviews on fiddlehangout.com.  I bought one as my back-up bow.  I still prefer my ~$300 Glasser carbon fiber bow that I bought at Atlanta Street Violins, but the K Holtz is definitely playable.

Who's your teacher?

My first fiddle lesson was last Saturday. Seems I need a bow, as the
one I have was declared "virtually unplayable".

My instructor recommended that I spend no more than $50 until I get a
feel for what I want, which might take a year or more.

I quick browse of the internet vendors yields names like Glasser, Kun,
Scott Cao, LaSalle, Siegler, and Geipel.

Any suggestions / advice?

Thanks,

--mo
