Jam in Kennesaw?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #57 of 176 |
Hi all. I'm a guitar teacher in Kennesaw that holds occassional jams
with my students. Now we have a jam full of acoustic guitar players
(which is fun.) But I think it'd be good to get some other acoustic
instruments involved (fiddle, mando, banjo, etc.) The music (so far)
has been a mix of acoustic pop, blues, bluegrass, and a few old-timey
songs. I know that old-timey & jamming are an unlikely combo, but we
like to let people solo and let the music go where ever it goes.
Basically, open to anything acoustic. Many of the attendees are
beginners. Singers are very welcome!

I live in Kennesaw a few miles from the Marietta square. The jams are
about playing, eating, drinking beer, and basically just having fun
with music.

So anyway, I'm trying to put out some feelers to see if anyone would be
up for regular jams in & around Kennesaw. What does everyone think?

Dan

Hi Dan. I play guitar (folky stuff mostly-- James Taylor to Lester Flatt), sing a bit, and I'm learning clawhammer banjo. Would love to join the jam some time....

What a great idea and a nice invitation. My partner and I love oldtime music and are abysmally poor musicians, we are ignorant of theory and get disgusted ...
