Subject: Wilder music in concert
Daniel Katzen, faculty hornist at the University of Arizona performed the
"Sonata No. 3 for Horn and Piano" by Alec Wilder on a recital given March 3,
2009. His partner was pianist Shiela Kibbe. The printed program noted that the
Sonata was inscribed "for Tait and John Barrows". The Sonata was a wedding
present that Wilder had written for them in the late 1960s. It was later
recorded by them on Golden Crest (LP) RE7034.
