Hello Guys and Gals-

My name is Bob Nelson, and I organize poetry events in the east
valley of Phoenix.

I have some opportunities in the next couple months for bands and
poets
that I would like to throw out and see if anyone is interested...
These are
fundraising shows for Anthology, Inc. (www.anthology.org) a local
literary nonprofit.

The first opportunity is August 27th, at the Del Sol Reception Hall in
Mesa. I originally had this venue booked for a poetry show, but that
fell
through so I am looking to see if some Bands would like to play a
showcase
in the venue. The room we rented will easily hold 200+ people, so
there
could be a big crowd for the right set of 3-4 bands (30 minute sets).
Please respond pretty quickly as we'll need to get flyers made and
press
releases out fairly quickly.

The second Opportunity is October 28th, for the first annual Anthology
Halloween Masquerade. We are looking for bands that will 'Masquerade'
as
famous bands for their 30 minute set (dress, music, etc). We will
also have
poets, 'Masquerading' as famous poets, and performing as well, so if
you're
interested in that too, please let me know. This show is also at the
Del Sol
Reception Hall, and we've booked a larger space, for upwards of about
1,000
people to attend.

And Finally, I have November 18th also booked at Del Sol, and I am
looking to do a Music Poetry Mixed show. If you would like to
participate,
send me a line, and I will send you some more details. I would like
to hook
up bands/DJ's and poets to do 15-20 minute sets together. The sooner
I have
poets names and Musicians/DJ's, the sooner I can hook the two up to
work on
a set.

For all shows, we will be setting aside a portion of the door charge
for
the bands and/or poets, but we won't know how much everyone will
receive
until after the show.
