THIS WEDNESDAY! And yes, Virginia, there will be a slam AND a
feature. The Greater Phoenix Poetry Slam gives out more prize money
per event than any other slam, and the TOP 3 Poets have the
opportunity to win cash. Because of the Feature, the slam will be
capped at 10 readers. The Goal of GPPS is to give you the best show
possible.

Anthology, the sponsor of the slam, supports local art, and local
businesses. GPPS is the only slam happening at a Grand Ave Art space,
The Paper Heart is a locally owned and operated venue, and long
considered the jewel of the Downtown Phoenix Art Community, We are
fortunate to have the opportunity to have a slam is such an awesome
venue, and we hope that you will join us in supporting both the slam
and the Downtown Arts effort.

The feature for this slam- Dave Tabor!

A 10 plus year veteran of the performance poetry community, Dave's
classics like "Flushing Becca" and "Donkey Punch" easily pushed the
envelope of spoken word in Phoenix. Dave's newer work has not let up
since, with "G.I. Ted", the poem about his father, his poem about
celebrating MLK day, I could go on and on. Dave is filming his
feature to put on his website, so be sure to come out and support him
with raucous noise and heavy drinking. In addition to being a member
of the first ever Mesa National Poetry Slam Team, Dave is also a
member of the 2006 first ever Paper Heart Slam Team, he will be
