Hello-
Bob Nelson with Anthology here. I am writing to ask you to help us here
at Anthology spread the word about the upcoming 2007 Voices of Youth Teen
Poetry Festival here in the Greater Phoenix Area.
This event involves the libraries of Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Peoria,
Tempe, Glendale, and Scottsdale- an unprecedented scope of support and
participation for this critical event in the valley.
We are asking teens to come out and read their poetry. Our sponsor,
Bookman's Entertainment Exchange, has offered over $300 in prizes for the
events.
Each library is hosting a poetry slam, with as many as 15 teens being
allowed to compete for $25 in Bookman's trade credit. But it get's even
better, because the top 2 poets from each show automatically qualify for the
Huge finals show, happening April 28th at Burton Barr library in Phoneix for
the chance to win $100 in Bookman's trade credit.
The event has a website, http://voy.anthology.org.
We need your help. We need you to pass this information on to anyone that
might be interested in participating, we are looking for teens 13-18.
Interested poets should register through the VOY website, because only 15
poets will be allowed to read at each location.
This is the single largest locally organized poetry event the valley will
see this year, and it's success can use all the support you have to offer,
even if it's just passing the website on to teens, their parents or anyone
else that might be interested in being a part of this tremendous event.
Here's the schedule of the preliminary events, and teens are welcome to
register for any of them that they would like....
