Dear Family and Friends,

It is with great joy, anticipation, and fear that I write this letter to
you. We are embarking on an exciting adventure. I am part of a talented
and ambitious group of artists who are opening a multi-arts venue ­ Chyro
Arts Venue.

Imagine a place in south Scottsdale featuring live theatre, live music,
visual art, poetry, independent film, and an online and print magazine. A
place for young artists who are just starting out, and a place for seasoned
veterans to share what they have learned. A place for youth to hang out
while drinking coffee and listening to great music. A place for the
community to learn about and discuss current events. A place to supplement
the often meager resources of public school fine arts programs; to teach
young people who to challenge their creativity, passion, desire, and energy
into art that is community-building instead of destructive. A place where
the whole family can see a play ­ without spending hundreds of dollars ­ and
discuss its life-impact on the drive home. This is the kind of place we are
working to build.

Who is this ³we²? There are four of us ­ Tom Leveen as Artistic Director;
Michael Peck as Technical Director and Secretary; Mandy Rose as Treasurer;
and Joy Leveen as President. Between the four of us, we have nearly 40
years of performance experience. We are excited and dedicated to this
venue. I hope that you will be too.

We are currently raising capital in order to secure a venue. We estimate
the venue needs $12,000 in order to begin performances. That seems like an
awful lot of money until you break down the figures. Four founding members
means $3,000 a piece. 3 people at $1,000. Six at $500. 30 at $100. 60 at
$50. Suddenly, $12,000 doesnıt seem so far off. If you can assist in any
way, we would appreciate it. Chyro Arts Venue is a not-for-profit venue;
all donations are tax-deductible. You can also send checks made out to
Chyro Arts Venue to 8659 E. Windsor Ave., Scottsdale, AZ 85257.


We need $$$ of course, but donated items are needed too!.
We know you are all hit up for something ALL THE FREGGIN TIME, but it's how
mountains get moved...

· Cash. Anything from $1 to A million. Spare $20 to us, get the write
off instead of going to McDonalds?
· Donıt forget, you can write it off, AND do it in small increments
if you want, like $5 a monthŠ
· $18 buys one chair
· Nice new / used DVD player
· Speakers
· Amps
· Mikes / stands/chords/adapters
· PA System
· Paint
· Bathroom Supplies (paper towels, sops, candles ­ you know the
drill)
· Gaff tape
· Igloo Chests ($32 each)
· Bumper Stickers printed
· Tee Shirts made
· Gently used couches
· Butts inside the doors!!!
· $2900 moves us in
· $1200 gets our live entertainment amplifier permit
· $3000 gets our sound system



Donating to Chyro is SUPER-easy! We currently have a website
(www.chyro.org). Simply click on the button that says "Make a Donation" and
follow the instructions provided to you by PayPal. (you do not need a
personal PayPal account to utilize this option)



ALL proceeds go toward the venue. Nobody in this endeavor is getting paid
with anything other than gratification and love of the various crafts
rumbling around inside it.
