Buddy's bass player, how does he do it?   Message List

[my apologies if this is a duplicate message, something went boom and
I got lost.]

I'm a would-be bass player and coming to Buddy for the first time in
quite a few years.

I put on "Sweet Tea". Buddy does a couple Junior Kimbrogh songs on
there. "Baby Please Don't Leave Me" is one and the bass player, Davy
Faragher, is getting some kind of depths-of-hell, wounded-dinosaur
wail I though was going to blow up my woofers. The song was on two
minutes, 3 neighbors called the police and my lawn was full of dazed
earth worms.

He gets a similar sound on "I've Got to Try You Girl" (another
Kmbrogh song).

Does anyone know how he's getting that low down growl?
D-tuned his bass? It doesn't sound like a synth. Sampled a T-rex
stuck in a tar pit?

Listening close it seems like the rhythm guitar is helping out some
but I'm not sure. Is this his touring band?

Thanks,
John
