I agree with German bow.
Originally taught French, I never did the correct hold, and when I
did it didn't feel right.
With german it's comfertable and easy to get back into.

there are pros and cons to each style. i don`t think that there is
a "better" choice, it is a difference in style. As musicians we
should listen to all styles with out bias and let the music speak
for itself.
