While I normally don't recommend getting any no-name instruments from eBay, I
did purchae my upright bass from there 4 years ago.

It was called something to the effect of "String Bass Monster!" Since I'm 6'4",
I can play what they call a full-sized bass (in reality, probably a 7/8 size).
But the point is I paid $495.00US for it, and it included a French bow (crappy
hair!), gig bag, strings, AND FREE SHIPPING (which then was $150 straight up)!

I figured that even if I got a pile of sawdust, I still got the other stuff for
$495.00!

The bass is actually quite decent for what it is. But expect to have the bridge
resized/cut down or whatever -- typical of the beast...

Just a thought!
