Hello Music Friends,

I am writing today to present a great opportunity to attend a workshop &
masterclass with world renowned jazz violinist Christian Howes on October
4th at the K.C. Strings Conservatory building. The workshop is meant for
any student that is interested in jazz & improvisational studies. The
alternative strings movement and amplification will also be covered. While you
are not required to bring an instrument, it is encouraged to bring one to
participate in the clinic.

A 90 minute masterclass will follow the seminar and is limited to 10
participants. However, all students that attend the workshop can observe the
masterclass. Christian has made himself available for private lessons
after the masterclass. Do not miss the chance to get private instruction from
a Berklee Associate Professor.

Christian's Background ~ a native of

Columbus, Ohio, Christian Howes was classically trained beginning at age
five. He subsequently performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the
Columbus Symphony Orchestra at sixteen. After placing in national classical
competitions (while still in his teens), Howes set out to build upon a
strong classical foundation and distinguish himself in jazz and the art of
improvising.
Just for K.C. metro teachers...
Christian will be available to go to your school & give your class a
private workshop on improvisation. He can also speak to your class about the
lifestyle of a professional musician. Or, if you would like to develop
lesson plans for creative strings workshops, please contact him directly
