Unfortunately the gig at the Red Lion in Gravesend this Saturday has been
cancelled as both the other bands have had to pull out. Our badges arrived

Hey guys, we've got a few gigs booked.

We're playing tonight at KIAD in Rochester - I think you need to be signed
in by a student if you're not one, but come along if you can make it.

Other gigs we've got lined up:

Sunday 12th March - Chatham Tap'n'Tin Battle of the Bands Semi-Final
Friday 1st April - Folkestone Lanterns
Thursday 6th April - Hastings Crypt
Friday 26th May - Folkestone Leas Cliff Hall
Friday 2nd June - Ashford Homelands
Sunday 13th August - Chatham All Day Charity Gig

Hopefully see you at one of those.

We're also thinking about doing some sort of cd this summer and we're
working on a few songs at the moment. We're already playing In Memory of
Ernest Chipper, a song about zombies. Festa Di Carne Part 3 is also
finished, we're currently rehearsing that up to gig standard. We should also
be doing some work on Four More Years, a song we've been talking about
writing for about a year and a half for the World Cup

See you all later!

Please come to this if you can.

FOOTBALL loving rock musicians from either end of Kent take each other on
later this month in a battle of the bands with a difference.

The Sonic Seasiders, made up of band members from south Kent, are playing
their opposite numbers from the north of the county, the Medway Musos, all
in aid of charity and no doubt more than a little local pride.

The football match takes place at Folkestone Invicta's Buzzlines Stadium on
Sunday, October 23, which a 2pm kick off.

There'll be a penalty shoot out at the end of 90 minutes, if necessary.

Cash raised on the day will go to a charity nominated by the winning team.

South Kent bands taking part include members of Battleska Galactica, Cubic
Space Division, Seventh Story and The Chase Scene while the north Kent
squad will include the likes of 3Dbs Down, One Day Elliott, Los Salvadores,
The Sunshine Bus, The State Addiction and Eight Weeks.

After the game the action switches to Stripes Club at the football ground
where music is provided by 'the visitors'.

Appearing are 3 Dbs Down, One Day Elliott, Los Salvadores, The State
Addiction and Eight Week.
The gig starts at 6pm.

Entry is £5 for the football and £5 for the gig or £3 if you keep your
ticket for the football.

Hey guys and girls.

A quick update on our gigs for October:

7th: Folkestone: Stripes with Howards Alias
14th: Chatham with One Day Elliott and 8 Weeks
21st: Folkestone: Stripes

But more importantly than that, we are arranging a football event and
gig on the 23rd of October. Please come along as it's for Charidee!

The match will be kicking off at 2pm at Folkestone's ground and will
be between bands from South Kent (the Sonic Seasiders, featuring us,
Cubic Space Division, Seventh Story and the Chase Scene) against
bands from North Kent (the Medway Musos featuring 3 Dbs Down, One Day
Elliott, Los Salvadores, 8 Weeks and The Sunshine Bus).

After this, there will be a gig featuring the bands from North Kent,
starting from 6pm.

Entrance to the football match is £5, and to get in to the gig it
will be £5 or £3 if you hand in your ticket from the football match.

Please please come along, it's all in a good cause and you'll get to
see us all making prats out of ourselves.

Cheers
BSG

Hello guys,

As most of you have probably heard or read on our website, our
drummer Nick "Motown" Harrison is leaving us on the 3rd of August.
There are only two gigs before he goes. The first is "Summer Daze"
at Wyvern hall in Sittingbourne on July 30th with the one and only
Trumpet Trev back with us for just one gig. The second is a charity
gig, but also a farewell gig for Motown at The Stripes Club in
Folkestone on the 3rd of August.

We haven't yet got a replacement drummer for Nick, and we are still
looking for possibilities. If anyone is interested in drumming for
us then please get in contact. We are going to arrange auditions
very near in the future.

OK, I think that's all the news that I have for this bulletin. As
per usual I will do the obligatory plug for our website
www.battleskagalactica.com, and just as a reminder.

Sittingbourne - Wyvern Hall - 30th July.

Kingskin
3DBs Down
The State Addiction
Seven Day Conspiracy
Los Salvadores
Catch The Eye

Folkestone - Stripes Club - 3rd August.
With other bands which I can't remember right now

ALOHA!! It's time for another fantastic outdoor gig, and on a sunny
day like this it's perfect weather to go out with your Hawaiian gear,
sunglasses and shorts to drink rum, dance and be merry.

I want everyone who goes to this gig to be wearing as loud a shirt as
possible, all the girls to be wearing grass skirts and doing the hoola.

So, I expect to see everybody there tonight, dancing 'till the sun
goes down. We'll probably be starting sometime between 7 and 8pm, so
don't miss out. All I'm thinking right now is FUN FUN FUN!!

Recording is going well. Album name still to be confirmed. Been arguing over
that this evening instead of practicing. We have some studio photos which we
will get on the website sometime soon hopefully. Provisional released date
is September. Provisional album title is World Domination Phase One which is
my choice but the rest of the band is not too keen. Current overall
favourite is Ecoute et repete.

Hey they Battleska-ites,

GIGS!

SEPTEMBER
30 canterbury: beercart arms w/ howard’s alias and martin (assuming everyone
can make it and the beercart gets its license back)

OCTOBER
3 dover: louis armgstrong w/ kingskin (acoustic set)
31 folkestone stripes club w/ ein steiffen and minor defect (?)

NOVEMBER
20 folkestone stripes club w/ reason 69

We are currently working on getting another tour sorted for next Easter,
hopefully with Reason 69 and Symon Says who we played with on the 'Punk Rock
Ruined My Life Tour' (not sure who named that one) in July.

NEWS!

luke promises to get the band signed before christmas

Admittedly Luke has promised this several times before (most notably when
several copies of the album were posted to various labels. Whilst doing
this, Luke kissed each envelope and exclaimed "10 million dollars!") but
this time it may not be such a Pie In The Sky dream as he has been talking
to a lady whose name escapes me but who may be working for Pie In The Sky
and has indicated that she wants to give the band a small percentage of the
10 million dollars Luke has been dreaming about to make the new album.

Luke has also offered me a non-promotion release clause and rumour has it
that Paul has asked for a minimum release fee although the exact figure
remains undisclosed.

recordings:

The idea at the moment seems to be to record a 12-track album, provisionally
titled ‘The Spring 2004 Collection’ (I’ve already had some ideas for artwork
– it’s going to be fantabulous). Although Luke has allegedly a "very good
reason" why we shouldn’t call it that. But he forgot the reason.

Songs for the album (provisionally)

The Song We Wrote Today To Start The Album
Festa Di Carne Part 2
Frank’n’Beans
Chemical Warfare
DAC Sharp
Soundtrack
Safety
My Brother Thom
Lewis’ New Song
Skank Away Your Heartache

Plus 2 more that haven’t been written yet. We're currently playing 4 of the
new songs live: Festa Di Carne Part 2, Soundtrack, Frank'n'Beans and
Chemical Warfare. There should be a couple more ready to play live soon,
hopefully. And Chemical Warfare may get renamed to Chemical Welfare, as we
didn’t actually realise there was a Slayer song of the same name. We thought
Bill Bailey was taking the piss.

The DIY Doughnut CD has still not materialised. It was supposed to be out in
January/February 2003 so I'm not sure what's going on (Tom? Jerry?). The
split EP with Poindexter has been put on hold.

Also, anyone think we should cover Live and Let Die? Imagine the brass
section doing that ba-ba-daaaa riff! It’d rule! Or maybe Come As You Are…
either sped up or swing style…

Also, I've commandeered the website, so it should be getting updated more
often. Me and Lewis have got some ideas for stuff to put on there, so keep
checking it out. www.battleskagalactica.com.

Catch you guys soon.
Stewart

hello all.

for the last two weeks i have had my brother chained to his computer,
refusing to let him sleep until he had finished our brand spangly new
website which is approximately 5000% better than the old one. check
it out at www.battleskagalactica.com.

there was a review in one of the local kentish papers of the gig at
the star which should hopefully be on the site soon. a review of the
skankin skater night is already up (written by seany prawny of the
grapeseed bandits) and a video of the skankin skater night is
available free from desolate releases (www.desolatereleases.cjb.net).
apparently they're thinking of doing some sort of dvd soon as well.
we haven't yet seen a copy of the video, but if it's any good, we'll
be sure to let you all know.

upcoming gigs:

22nd march in newbury at the waterside centre with mister pringle and
lower case j

5th april in guildford

11th april at the louis armstrong in dover

19th april at the king's hall in dover

26th april at the tap'n'tin in chatham

hope to see you all soon

Just a quick note to let you know that we'll be playing at the Forum
in Tunbridge Wells this Friday (if we can get there!) at the first
Skankin Skater night. There's six bands, aside from us there will, I
beleive be Minor Defect, Scream Bloody Murder, The Grapeseed Bandits,
Captain Monkie and Henry Holds His Own. It's only a fiver to get in,
so come along if you can.

The week after that, we're playing at the Star in Ashford on Friday
the 28th with The Filmaents, Martin and Minor Defect again. The only
date scheduled for March so far is the 21st in Leysdown (wherever
that is). Hopefully we'll see you all at a gig soon enough.

Our website is currently being made all spangly by people who
actually know what they're doing. It should be online fairly soon
hopefully and will replace the current one which is at
www.battleskagalactica.com.

Love and cheese,
Stewart
