heard a story that while out on a stroll in new york,shortly after
the premiere of the Concerto for Orchestra,Bartok thought he smelled
horses (on 6th Avenue !!),went into a building,which turned out to be
a riding academy, and remarked to his wife that the smell of the
sleeping horses there reminded him of Hungary,which he missed so much.
