For lots of Bartok pieces one can find a story from the text of the
original folksong. Unfortunately these Rumanian folk dances
originate from instrumental recordings, therefore there is no text,
and no stories. However, you can imaginate all stories you want.
The story of a drunk man walking home suits well to the second
Burlesque for piano, which has the subtitle: A Bit Drunk...
The original Romanian folkdance recordings were played: the
first by two violins, the second and the third by a recorder, and all
the others by a solo violin.
Best wishes, Pierre
