Post-modernism has ruined music for an entire generation! Tis true, and I shall tell thee why! Once there were brave souls called modernists! They followed in the footsteps of futurists (don't ask how that works) and boldly proclaimed that art must move FORWARD, must forge new paths and do new things! But they were dragged down by POST-modernists, cowards who feared the branches that modernists dared explore. They preferred to look BACKWARDS, to "quote" older art, to sample and parody. At first appearing to also be a new form of art, this recombinant technique quickly degraded into the current state of affairs: detached sarcasm, insincerity as cool, and Puff Daddy's "I'll Be Missing You" accepted as an original song! ENOUGH! Nowhere is this worse than in the realm of rock and roll music, where we have "ironic" metal bands, retro garage acts, and revivalists of any era you choose! We hereby stake a claim for NEW ROCKENROLL! Post-post-modernism is modernism! STAND BACK or GETUP and DANCE!
