Greetings to one and all from Flip City!

For some time now The Permanent Flame and Rooms with Brittle Views
have shared a common discussion forum. In recent weeks there have
been a flood of negative comments being posted. But not just
negative in regard to songs, performances, etc., rather negative to
other people posting. There have been vicious personal attacks, and
people have been posting negative messages using another person's
name.

In a word, childish behaviour. And far below the level of the typical
Nelsonian. Its sad to see this surface again as a similar situation occurred on
the Permanent Flame about four years ago. Those incidents forced the
closure of the discussion board. (It was later restored after a plea for sanity
and courtesy was made.)

Alan Myers, of RWBV, has proposed the following guidelines to a new
discussion board. i agree with him on this matter and we both ask
all individuals using the boards to just be honest and fair. We all understand
that people have differing opinions o topics, but ridiculing and belittling
those with whom you disagree is just uncalled for and we ask you to keep the
information to yourself. If you really feel the need to denounce an individual
just write to his/her private email address. Don't air your bad feelings in a
public place. Please read this guidelines and apply them to your posts. If you

"Rooms With Brittle Views & Permanent Flame official Bill Nelson websites
understand that the Northern Dreamer discussion board is open to all who are
granted membership.

"All visitors are welcome to make a contribution, but they should understand
that they are not at liberty to post whatever material they wish. There are
restrictions, and contributions to the board should remain within these
limits. If not ,the postings will be removed and the postee will no longer be
eligible to use Northern Dreamer.

"There are legal issues here, and it is yourself, and not RWBV, that would be
responsible for any material that may be viewed as libellous or, insulting by
other contributors or readers. With that in mind, here are the type of
postings that may result in your contribution being removed from Northern
Dreamer and any further contribution being removed without consultation.

"If you use Northern Dreamer, you agree that you will not;

"1. Advertise any goods on the board, but use the appropriate trading areas of
both websites.

"2. Post any item on the discussion board that is illegal. i.e that contravene
the laws of the state/ nation in which you live.

"3. Post, or assist in posting, any message that may libel another, or is
offensive to another, be it through ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexuality.
You should not encourage any message which may be construed as offensive or
objectionable, in that it is obscene or pornographic, defines others or is
objectionable in it's viewpoint.

"4. You should not use the email address when provided of other Northern
Dreamer users, to solicit adulterated material or other areas of private
information.

"5. You should not post any messages under a false name i.e. impersonating
another Northern Dreamer user.

"Members of Northern Dreamer who do not adhere to these rules, will have their
privilege of use of the Discussion Boards terminated without further prior
notification. It in the best interest of the majority of the Discussion Board
users, that the Northern Dreamer administrators and moderators will monitor
all of the above requirements for use of the board. However, you should
understand, that there may be occasions in which, the context of the
discussion, may involve strong language, or encompass views that you do not
necessarily agree with. Northern Dreamer will make all attempts to minimalise
these, but cannot be responsible for any damage or losses incurred."
