Greetings to one and all from Tranquility Base.
Two items of worth to discuss here.
1) There is a new diary entry in which Bill talks about the first
two concerts of the "Romance of Sustain" tour. He gives his
impressions of the venues, the ever-present troubles with the
equipment setup, and fan reaction. Link here:

2) On a personal note i'm announcing that The Permanent Flame will
be "going black" this weekend so that i can pay my regards to Warren
Zevon, who passed away on Sunday morning. All links, pages, and
files will be gone. The only page you will be able to see will have
my regards to him.
i've always taken pride in the fact that Warren was born in my home
town of San Pedro, California. Like Bill, he never received the
recognition and support by the masses. True, he did have a novelty
hit with "Werewolves of London", a song that is now a yearly staple
on most rock radio stations around Halloween. But he never found the
success that he so deserved.
i need to express my thanks to my friend, and this is how i will be
doing it. The site will change on Friday night, and remain that way
until Sunday evening. i only ask that you'll join me in silent words
of thanks to the man.
