horses for courses, as they say, but i'd like to repeat here what i've said
before: i never fell in love with a collection of songs the way i did when i
finally heard Umbrella. i don't know why you were disappointed, unless maybe
you were expecting something, which would have been your first mistake!
though i recognize that Umbrella is not "the best" recording ever made, nor
does
it contain "the best songs ever written (or does it?)," i have learned over
my relatively lengthy life that, very often, acquired tastes are the most
rewarding. and if you have found something you value in other IM recordings,
let me encourage you to give this one another chance ...some day. some IM
fans i've spoken with concur that "when you're ready, you'll get it." i was
unable to "hear" their music for years, God knows why, until one day, "pow!" it
hit me, and i caught their vision and it's been a journey and an adventure i
wish everyone could experience the joy of. especially people who think
prepositions aren't good things to end sentences with. either way, bon voyage.
:) ---my three cents

I just got Umbrella and I have to say I'm
disappointed. I wonder if Larry Klein was the wrong
producer. The only song I really like is And Hiding
Away.
