Although the Knights will be performing at our usual time and place -- 11AM Saturday July 11th in the Valley Ballroom of the Hunt Valley Inn -- and we should have a complete or almost complete crew, we've decided to shake things up a bit.

Roughly every other song at our concert will be selected at random from a bowl of songs requested by members of our audience.

YES!  You get to choose what we sing!

We can't guarantee that we'll remember every song in our repertoire, but we'll give it a try.  We'll have the master song book with all the lyrics and John will do his best to provide accompaniment or we'll go a capella (Italian for off-key, don't ya know).

Just so you know, we're already planning to do the following songs, so pick something else out:
Earth Magic Girls
Outlaw Band of Thieves  [new]
Wanted: Harem Guard [new]
Works Like a Charm [newish]
Thank You, Scotland [new]
I'll Rock Your World
It Seems I'll Have to Rescue You
Dragon's Lure [only performed once before]

Got a song of ours that you like that you never hear any more?  Stuff the ballot box.
Can't get enough of your favorite performer?  Request all of his/her numbers.
We've done your favorite song for every concert in the past two years, but it's not in our line-up for this concert? Put it in the bowl.

Come!  Participate!  Hopefully, we'll all have fun!  See you at Shore Leave!

Smap
a.k.a Dionne of Warwicke, Boogie Knight and List Mom.

P.S.  BONUS!!  Come to Shore Leave Friday Night and watch as our percussionist, Krad the Obscure (Keith R. A. DeCandido) gets Roasted for Charity 7-9 PM.

Almost that time of the year again!
As always, I am front row for the knights!
This year, if you are lucky (and when you are done getting the knights latest CD
and making sure it is autographed), see if you can find me, I just finished the
artwork for the cover of the program guide book!
Make sure you buy the knights CDs first, and during the con you MUST sing along,
that's half the fun!

Friends,

If you haven't had the chance to see "Plaid Tidings" and you'd still like to,
please make your reservations as soon as possible. Low reservations have already
caused the theater to cancel the Friday evening and Sunday evening shows this
final week! That leaves only 4 shows left - tonight, tomorrow night (New Year's
Eve), Saturday night and Sunday Matinee!

New Year's Eve is a special event night, with Toby's signature buffet: "Plaid
Tidings" show, post-show dancing, champagne toast and breakfast buffet after
midnight!

Call 1-800-888-6297 for ticket information and to make your reservations!

In the off chance that they may do a "Friends and Family" discount, please
mention my name when you make your reservation. Check out
www.tobysdinnertheatre.com and click on Toby's Dinner Theater, Columbia to see
photos from the show!

Karl Hille of The Baltimore Examiner wrote: "As Jinx, John Scheeler's
performance of "Besame Mucho/Kiss of Fire" is exceptional. Perfectly on pitch,
he sings with a passion that makes audience members sit up and listen. It's
perhaps the best solo performance of the entire show." To read the entire
review, go to:

Some of you have seen the show already, and I thank you for your support. Please
tell your friends and feel free to pass this e-mail along to anyone who might be
interested.

Thanks!

Thanks, Sharon! We also have a myspace page for the show, at http://www.myspace.com/charmcitymix, and you can get ahold of my husband Chris (the primary host of the show... I just scream comments from the other side of our computer room) during the show on Yahoo Instant Messenger at CharmCityMix.

We take requests, and will be playing as much Boogie Knights stuff as he can get ripped into his computer tonight. I'm also hoping to dig through whatever's available at the FuMP website for more Halloween parody stuff.

I'm very sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and I'll certainly add her to my next healing working. I'll also pass this news along to my Star Trek group since I know I'm not the only BK fan in the bunch.

Boogie Knights Good News:

A song or two of ours are scheduled to be included in a Halloween-themed
installment of a local internet radio show, "Charm City". So, be listening to
http://www.krushradio.com/ between 6 and 8 PM Eastern time on Thursday, 30
October, and show support for us by showing support to them. :-)

More good news, the folks at the church where we'll be performing next week
(Salem Lutheran Church in South Baltimore) have decided to donate THEIR half of
the proceeds to our charities as well. So, all ticket sale profits will be
split between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Tommy Fund for Childhood
Cancer!

So remember: 8PM November 8th at the Riverside Theater in the basement of the
Salem Lutheran Church, 1530 Battery Avenue in Baltimore, MD 21230-4615. Two
hours of Boogie Knights music for $10 and it all goes to charity! How can you
beat that?!

Boogie Knights Bad News:

Molly Bagnall, mother of the Lady Sarah of MacLachlan and long time Boogie
Knights fan, is gravely ill. Mrs. Bagnall has always been a friendly, kind, and
enthusiastically supportive person often found with her husband in the front row
at Boogie Knights concerts leading the applause. She has always been very
supportive of her children in all they do and they are devastated now to see her
so ill. So are we. Thoughts, prayers, sympathies, healing energies all
respectfully requested and gratefully accepted.

Hi everyone,

My husband does an internet radio show at 6pm every Thursday night on
Krushradio.com. In two weeks, on the 30th, we wanted to do a
Halloween-themed show. I especially want to play some good Halloween

Which BK songs are halloween-ish? I started picking through the song

Bad fan.)

And, more importantly, which ones can I get into my hands within two

Back in April, one day after I got home from I-Con, my computer literally fried.
(The heat sink fell off of my CPU which promptly overheated.) It took me a
while to replace the system and then I couldn't get an XP system on which I
could have just transferred all my software and continued uninterrupted. (Curse
you, Microsoft!) I got a Vista computer which I hated! (Double curse you,
Microsoft!) And I got a Macbook.

So, now I'm doing development on a Mac. I had ALL of the web site files, but I
still had no way to access the web site and I was unable to contact the man who
owns the site. He had moved from Florida to California, had changed his phone
number, and wasn't responding to any of my various attempts at email. I was
going slightly crazy... okay, crazier. And the site was going quickly stale.

Well, last night, I logged into yahoo trying to help a friend with a yahoo
groups problem and I noticed that our web host was on-line! So, we IMed and
worked out a couple of the details I needed to re-establish contact with the
site! Today, I updated the site files and uploaded them to the server and
Hallelujah! we're back up!

Give me a couple days to update our song list, but in the meantime, I've updated
index, news, and meet the knights. Please let me know if there's anything you
want to see there and I'll do my best to accommodate you.

Sorry for the short notice, but I just heard about this ...

The Robbie Greenberger the broadcast is dedicated to is the Boogie Knights'
squire who lost his battle with leukemia just over a week ago at the age of 20.

Yes, we made it to Marcon last year and were relatively well received, but this
year their program director was a little stressed and told us that they were
full up with guests/performers and there was no room for us in the schedule.
So, we accepted the invitation back to Con Carolinas instead.

Honestly, if we can work out a deal with a Midwest convention to get some
compensation for rooms and/or travel, we'd be happy to perform in the Midwest.
So far, the furthest west we've been is Columbus, OH. (Furthest North is
Toronto; furthest East, Boston; and furthest south, Atlanta.)

Isabel, if you can recommend a convention or two that you think would be
interested, let us know or put in a good word for us with the ConComm. I can't
guarantee that we'd be able to do it, but we'd definitely look into it.

And Isabel, thank you for going to such effort to make it to our concerts.
That's dedication above and beyond.

After 9 trains (5 going; 4 returning); 1 shuttle bus (going); and 2 shuttle vans (1 going; 1 returning), I've returned home to Chicago from Shore Leave.  No question about it:  the Boogie Knights' two performances were the weekend highlights.

Thanks for all the hard work, practice, and planning that goes into the writing and into the performances.  Hope some day you'll perform here in the Midwest.
