My boss (!) brought this to my attention...

On the cover of the "Live!" section 10 July 2008 "Baltimore Sun" are the Klingon
Blues Brothers with the caption "THE SCI-FI FRONTIER: The Shore Leave 30
Convention Goes to the Stars and Beyond for Fans >>>page 8". When you turn to
page 8, there's a full color photo of the Boogie Knights from last year's
concert with the caption, "The Boogie Knights perform at last year's Shore Leave
convention. The group has attended the even every year since 1982. -- Jacalyn
Stanley [courtesy of Shore Leave 2007]" that goes with a page and a half article
on Shore Leave!!!!!

If you go to the web page
(http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/custom/live/) , we are picture number
4 in their "Weekend Picks from Live! photos".

YAY! This is my new favorite song. =)

I assume you've got a table for selling CDs somewhere in the long hallway of
doom by the ballrooms? I'm trying to gauge how much cash I need to bring, since
I'm sure the ATM in the hotel will run out of cash by about 6pm Friday.

Hi.

Sorry this is such short notice, but things have been in flux and didn't really
solidify until Tuesday night and then I was unable to get to my computer
yesterday. Anyway, enough with the excuses.

ALL SEVEN Boogie Knights will be performing this Saturday at Shore Leave 30,
being held at its usual venue, the Hunt Valley Marriott Inn on Shawan Rd. in
Hunt Valley, MD.

We have a full hour concert at 11AM in the Valley Ballroom and we will be the
halftime entertainment for the 8PM masquerade.

The planned sets are:

Saturday Morning, Show 1
---------------------------------------
I Wanna Be Your Wife's Guard (All)
Face The Inquisition (Girls)
Banned From The Renaissance (John)
Worked Like a Charm (Kate) <-- New!
Irish Samurai (Dave)
Oh, What A Knight (Sharon)
Anarchy/Monarchy (John & Dave)
The Seven (All)
That Don't Excite Me Much (Linda)
Take The Ring To Mount Doom (John & Dave)
Under The Drawbridge (Girls)
The Legend of Zombie Pete (John & Dave)
I'll Rock Your World (Heather)
One Little Trip (John & Dave)
Sailin' With Captain Morgan (John & All)

And however many of these we get to during masquerade:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Earth Magic Girls (All)
Madagascar (Girls) <--yes, Lemurs.
House On Pooh Corner (John)
I'll Walk The Road (Kate)
No Trousers (Dave)
Unauthenticated Clothing (Sharon & Linda)(with CD accompaniment)
Top of the Wall (Girls – For Bob Asprin!)
Thievin' For A Livin' (John & Dave & All)*
Pookah (Linda)*
Fair Verona (John & Dave)*
Brewing In Elsinore (Girls)*
Take The Gold (But Don't Touch The Idol) (John & Dave)*
Where, Oh Where Art Thou Tonight (John & Heather)*

Hope to see you there!

Goodness! You sound like our promoter! :-)
And yes, the live performances are a little different than the CDs. ;-) No two
concerts are ever exactly the same.

Yes, the Boogie Knights -- at this point it looks like all seven of us -- will
be at Shore Leave this year. In fact, we'll have two concerts on Saturday July
12th: our usual hour at 11AM (most likely in the Valley Ballroom) and the
half-time show for the Masquerade. The Masquerade starts at 8PM and features
our own Theodoric of York, David Keefer as emcee. (I will be working backstage
as usual.)

We'll be posting our song set list as soon as it stabilizes. (See my comment
above about no two concerts ever being the same.) I can guarantee that we will
be doing the lemur song (Madagascar), but I can't guarantee which concert it
will be in yet.

Hope to see you there!

THANK YOU. ConCarolinas is always a very welcoming con and we enjoy ourselves
there. We all enjoy your open filk and the Lady Pinque and I both enjoy your
Klingon Karaoke as well.

And let me take this opportunity to welcome the newest member of this list, Filk
Ferret, aka Frank Parker, ConChair for ConCarolinas.

On behalf of myself and my co-filkchair, I wanted to post a short
note and thank the Knights for three (count 'em THREE!) great
preformances this year at ConCarolinas. I have seen many of their
performances and they get better every time I see them. The "Lemers"

We especially wanted to thank them for appearing for over two
hours in the open filking Saturday night right after a ninety minute
concert. Now that, friends, is dedication, and is an excellant way to
beef up the fan base for those who, unlike Teri, myself and Frank

totally hooked yet.

You said it! Especially after the Saturday night concert. An hour and half of
singing takes a lot out of us. Poor John will have to soak his hands in ice
water after strumming the guitar that long.

Of course, after I posted this message, they posted the schedule.

Our schedule, should you wish to see us perform this weekend is:
8-9PM Friday in room 137 of the Harriman Bldg. Boogies unplugged)
4-5PM Saturday in the SAC Auditorium
8PM-? Saturday in the SAC Auditorium is the Cabaret. (we'll be in
there somewhere.)
2-3PM Sunday in the SAC Auditorium, then we'll be boggie'ing out
the door for the long drive home to Maryland.

And hopefully someplace obvious, we'll have a table where we'll be
selling our wares. (Sorry, still don't have the DVD ready.) Please
stop by and chat.

Apologies to the list for the SPAM. (Ya go away for one weekend and
the riffraff get in.) I'm switch membership back to requiring
approval so we get fewer of these.

Thanks!
Smap, List Mom

P.S. On a happier subject, we're finally making tangible progress on
the DVD.

Looking forward to catching the act at Farpoint,
