[ Defend Brooklyn Save Our Local Venues! ]

5 Days Left to Make History in Brooklyn

With just 3 weeks to go before election day on November 8, we
would like to let you know about an independent candidate that
is trying to save our local venues and other small businesses
from the hands of greedy corporate developers.

Gloria Mattera is the Green Party candidate for Brooklyn
Borough President and she is running a very strong grass roots
campaign to ensure that all future development speaks to the
needs of the community and not to the corrupt politicians and
landlords trying to make a fast buck.

However, she desperately needs your help in getting to the
next level of running a successful campaign by receiving
matching funds from NYC. Her campaign is currently less than
$8,000 short of their $50,000 goal needed to qualify for funds
of $200,000. A few weeks ago this target seemed unattainable,
but now it's within reach and you are the key to their
success. Matching funds will only happen with your help.

With your help, Gloria's campaign will achieve a level of
visibility not enjoyed by an independent progressive candidate
in our city for decades. In fact, the campaign is already
scheduling television and radio spots, and plans are being
made for an election day mobilization that will shock the
incumbent with its scope and energy. If we fail...well,
that's simply not an option.
