Tommy Castro is a first time nominee to the 2006 Blues Music Awards
(formerly known as the WC Handy Awards) that will be held on May 11th
in Memphis. Tommy has been nominated in two catagories:
Contemporary Blues Album of the Year - SOUL SHAKER, Blind Pig Records
and
Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year

We all know that Tommy's heart and soul reeks blues. He has always
played for many charities for the less fortunate, including but not
limited to:
Photocharity - saving homeless teens www.photocharity.com/; Glide
Memorial Church; Bay Area Schools; more homeless programs; programs
for the developmentally delayed and much more.

He has also supported his friends, fans, and peers who were down and
out with medical problems, playing at their benefits, signing and
auctioning guitars and CDs.
