I got these tools from 'Google Gadgets' http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open  Lots of webpage resources here, and all free.  You can also get some interesting tools for your desktop from: http://desktop.google.com/plugins/ if you have first installed the google desktop: http://desktop.google.com/en/  It's quite a nice feature; includes a news reader, weather, email preview and allows you add other plugins.  Easy to uninstall if you don't like it.
