Re: [Bobbie Gentry] the girl from cincinatti

Sorry, Arthur, I forgot to answer your other two questions. No, I have never
heard of any recordings with Jim Stafford. I think we may have heard some by now
if there were any.

As to Bear Family, I have about seventy of their box sets and am very impressed
with the care they take in every aspect of their production so I wrote to them
about two years ago requesting just such a box set, unfortunately, their reply
wasn't very encouraging. They told me that they didn't have the rights to any of
Bobbie's material at the present time. I also tried to get messages through to
Bobbie herself on the "OdetoBobbieGentry" web site message board to see if she
can encourage Capitol, Brunswick and Warner to get together on a box set
project, but as far as I can tell from another person (who claimed to be a good
friend of Bobbie's), who once left a message on that site, (although I can no
longer find that message on there), she doesn't own a computer so is never
likely to see any messages left there for her.

Perhaps if all her fans were to inundate Capitol Records with letters requesting
a box set they may be encouraged to do something about it.

Peter Bellamy.

As far as I'm aware "Another Place, Another Time" / "I Think I'll Cry Out Loud" were the only two tracks Bobbie ever recorded for Brunswick; and I've never...
