Paul:
I have a LOT of pictures from that tour, and the rehearsals, etc.,
and many wonderful memories... Unfortunately, I didn't play on any
of the recordings, but since I was with her from about March, 1971,
until about April, 1972, we did a lot of things from those best
albums..."Fancy", "He Made A Woman Out Of Me", of course, "Ode to
Billy Joe", but also some tunes by other artists....
I recall doing "Kentucky Rain", the David Gates tune, "I'm Gonna
Make It With You", and a medly of 40's tunes that
included "Chattanooga Choo-Choo"...But my favorite was the show-
opener...We did this KILLER opening number that was called "Born To
Wander", (by Rare Earth)... It gave me goose-bumps every show...<G>
It was great to hear Reba McEntire do a cover-version of "Fancy",
after playing it so many years ago...
But the bottom line, is that Bobbie was an absolute doll to work
with, and one of the nicest ladies I've ever known... The band was
a "family", and we spent most of our off-stage time together as well
as on-stage time, simply because we were all such great friends...
Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, but I've actually been playing a
lot lately, and haven't been checking some things as frequently as I
would like...
Take care,
