   I am studying organisational psychology in the netherlands and for my final
paper I am doing research about group processes in bands formed in the '60's,
'70's and '80's.

   The Boomtown Rats is one of the bands, and I am missing some information about
its members, and I hope someone can help me!

Sir Bob Geldof has vowed never to arrange another LIVE 8 gig -
because he is getting too old.

The poverty-awareness campaigner, who has just been named the 2005
Man of Peace, organized Live Aid in 1985 and Live 8 this year (2005) -
but doesn't think he will have the stamina to do it again as a
pensioner in 2025.

He says, "If I leave it another 20 years, I'll be 74, I don't think I
could handle it.

"I'm hoping we don't need to have another Live Aid."

Geldof's daughters FIFI TRIXIBELLE, TIGER LILY, PIXIE and PEACHES are
relieved at their dad's decision, because an old man hosting such an
event would be "embarrassing".

On May 31, 2005, Sir Bob Geldof announced the Live 8 events. The
concerts would be a sequel to 1985's Live AID concerts. This time
Geldof announced "we want your voice, not your money," in an effort
to persuade the 8 world leaders who would be attending the G8 summit
to donate more money to feed the poor in Africa. Live 8 would feature
concerts in London, Philadelphia, Paris, Rome, and Berlin during the
original announcement.

Over the next month, Geldof added 5 additional venues to the line-up.
Nine of the concerts were held on July 2, 2005 and the final concert
was held in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 6.

Over a million people attended the 10 concerts that made up Live 8
and millions more watched at home on television and on the Internet.

The G8 agreed to some of the demands of those who supported Live 8.
They pledged to forgive $40 billion worth of debt of 18 nations and
contribute more money to helping the poor in Africa.

Another Band AID, Live AID or Live 8 would be wonderful, but may not
be possible without the efforts of Sir Bob Geldof.

small city in Oregon listening to the Rats was rare
but the masses who were listening to Michael Jackson

My fiancée and I were in the Gold Circle at the London Live 8 event
and the vast majority of the photos were taken by us. She was the one
who created the banner shown on TV during Pink Floyd's performance
that said, "Pink Floyd Reunited, Pigs Have Flown" and was seen jumping
up and down and later holding a green light. We can also be seen
during U2's performance earlier in the day. It was an amazing day and
being there was very surreal. It is a memory we'll always treasure.

I saw Bob on the "Sex, Age $& Death" tour in San Francisco.  There were
less than 50 people at that show.  It broke my heart.  I can't imagine
why he would come back to California with that little support.  Let's

continent to see him.  He could do his part by flying
across the ocean.

IN other news I saw that vegas bookies have put 7-1
odds that Bob and Bono will recieve the nobel peace
prize for their efforts in ending world hunger.
Wouldn't that be groovy?

Anyone have anymore info on the Dec gig?... Just got my tickets and now
I see that Ticketmaster no longer has the tix on sale... Is the show
sold out?... HOPEFULLY it's still going on!... the website still doesn't
have any confirmed shows... getting nervous........

Bob was married to Paula Yates from 1986 to 1996 and
had several children with her. Paula left Bob and
married Michael Hutchence of INXS and had one child.
There were exhausting custody battles for Bob's
children. Both Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates
committed Suicide, and all of the children came into
custody of Bob. There have however been meddling
distant relatives who claim that Bob is unqualified to
care for Tiger Lily (Hutchence's child). Bob has not
married again.


I recommend his autobiography, Is That It? (you can
find it on eBay for a good price, as I think it is out
of print). It's very well written and insightful and
enjoyable.

Bob WAS married to Paula Yates. They got married in 1986. They had a very
messy divorce when she ran off with Michael Hutchence of INXS. Things got
VERY nasty.

He is presently not married but he lives with a French actress named Jeanne
Marine. They've been together since 96. He has 3 daughters with Paula and he
has adopted Paula and Michael's daughter Tiger Lily since Paula and Michael
have both passed on.
