Fiesta Flamenca - A gathering place for the flamenco community
7:30 PM - 12:30 AM - 2nd Wednesday of each month - $10
La Tania presents "Fiesta Flamenca" as a new home for the flamenco community.
Each month on the second Wednesday she invites flamenco lovers to gather to enjoy performances, flamenco inspired artwork, and relax in a casual cantina setting.
Everyone is invited to participate in "juerga" style (improvisation) and to dance Sevillanas, Rumbas, etc. to DJ music.
Visual artists working with flamenco themes can show slides of their work on a big video screen.

He is a celebrated and talented troubadour, singer-songwriter, who has captivated audiences not only in his homeland Mexico, but also in Europe and the United States. He headlined the Mission district's legendary "Encuentro del Canto Popular" last year, singing to an audience that cheered loudly this sold-out performance at the Brava Theater Center. ALFONSO MAYA released two studio CDs of his original compositions: Giros y Giros (2001) and Tarot (2004). He is currently working on his third CD. "He has a classic voice for Latino ballad, a gift for creating haunting melodies, exceedingly creative with rhythms - combining elements of bossa nova, jazz, funk, rock, pop, folk, son jarocho, and other world rhythms to produce rhythmic creations that are unique and inimitable" ALFONSO MAYA is featured in the trova compilation "1,2,3 Por...
