Hi, I sing with an awesome female Acapella chorus and
quartet in Newington, NH.
Our alto (known as baritone in the barbershop world)
just bailed and we desperately need a new one.
Our quartet will be competing at our Area Contest in
April, and we'll also do as many "gigs" as we can in
order to be in front of audiences!

We rehearse on Monday nights at 5:30 in Newington, NH.
  When we can't meet there we have a sound room at the
Bass's house in Exeter on Wednesdays.

We are holding auditions for a tenor (either T1 or T2). Rehearsals are
Wednesday evenings in Waltham, MA. Gigs are 1 to 2 a month. We've
performed at all kinds of events from library concert series, to
wedding ceremonies to our own a-cappella bash called Spring Fev-ah
(which was SRO this year!).  Strong sight reading ability or a
willingness to work outside of rehearsal is required. Auditions will
consist of you joining us for a rehearsal and singing the music at
hand. There might also be a short sight reading and pitch matching
exercise. If you wish, you can bring a prepared unaccompanied solo
piece to round out your audition.
A final decision will be made in early Fall.

I received a call today from NBC asking me to get the word out and to
encourage a cappella groups to audition for season 2 of the "America's
Got Talent" TV show. Auditions are upcoming across the country and the
grand prize is a cool $1,000,000.

Nationally-known pop vocal band All About Buford seeks one more
powerful female singer to complete our sound. We need a pro-level
singer with stage presence and power. Preferably alto range, but
anyone who can comfortably sing in an alto range is fine. Someone with
a strong solo voice who can groove. All performances are paid. Great
ear required. Songwriting and arranging skills a plus; ability to play
other instruments also welcomed. Also are incorporating pedals and
effects. Songs are often arranged collectively - you will not be
reading from written arrangements for the most part (think band
structure), though that is changing slightly. All members get a chance
to sing lead, but also will be required to sing blended but creative
backup parts. The music is pop-oriented, with a little of whatever
else moves us, so you must have a pop voice and sensibility, and a hip
look - we want a good visual onstage as well as good music! Must be
able to make a commitment to some touring, and consistent gigging.
Competent mic technique and comfortable performance skills (movement,
ability to banter and joke) required.

We perform solely at listening rooms, festivals and concert halls of
prestige. We have strong relationships with many high-end venues, with
new performances being booked all the time. Booking is done both
internally and externally, but all management and business is
currently done internally by the members of the band. New recording in
process.

Though this is not currently a full-time commitment, it may become so
at some point (or it may not). We are an award-winning vocal band
based in the Boston area, but we are a commuting band, so disparate
locations are ok. Rehearsals approximately once a week (when
geographically together), perhaps more during the initial phase.
