they have a kinda warning notice on the door saying that girls shouldnt go in alone cos of the raincoat brigade...but
some of those early 80s ripoffs of XTRO which is a ripoff of ALIEN are really greeeaat! ther one i saw called "Les Nuits Des Mortes Vivantes" (but absolutely nothing to do with night of the living dead or any or the italian things with similar titles)...the plot is a spooky guyy on a motorbike is seen putting something like dodgy chemicals in a big tanker truck full of milk while a girl with a miniskirt distracts the truck driver into a barn to have some softcore 70s lingerie type ugh ugh ugh action, and then the girls go in a bar and die of drinking milk and come back from the dead and in one scene go into a swimming pool for some reason, and at the end it all turns out to be a big scam and they drive off and pull off their cheap masks which tries to justify the cheap sfx but then the car explodes in a slowmo finale with french banknotes flying in the air everywhere...

Hello ya'll

Here's a screening announcement, but not the kind I've sent out
in the past.

You may have heard about Move-On, a on-line organization
raising conciousness about right-wing politics in the US. You
may have heard that they have sponsored a video documentary
called "Uncovered: The Whole Truth about the Iraq War." I've got
the dvd in my hands and on Sunday December 7th at 6:00 pm, I'll
be showing it at the New Nothing Cinema at 16 Sherman Street
in SF as part of a national screening evening.

Move-On has organized 1500+ screenings of the video around
the country to be held on the same evening to get the video seen
and discussed. I haven't watched it yet, but I see it as a chance
to get some facts before the holiday discussions that will
happen for me outside the Bay Area.

If you're interested in coming, please sign-up at
http://action.moveon.org/meet/selectmtg.html?event_ids=1434

There will be no speeches, fund-raising, or sloganeering at this
event - I want to see if Move-On can put together a decent case
for the future war crimes trials for Bush and Company (visualize
whirled peas and W in The Hague courtroom). As part of the
evening, there will be a conference telephone call linking all the
screenings with the director and others, but this happens at 5:00
PST, so I decided not to link up with that. But being connected
(even without the telephone) with thousands of others across the
country sounds like a unique experience. This a BYO event, but
if anyone wants to order pizza after the screening, we can do that
too.

Please rsvp, so I know what size crowd to expect, but don't
respond directly to me - the sign-up is at
http://action.moveon.org/meet/selectmtg.html?event_ids=1434
Check the box next to the name of the event, hit "select event"
and fill out the form. Move-On may use your email address to
announce future events, but they won't be signing you up for their
regular mailings, unless you go to their main site and do so. I'd
encourage you to get on their list though - they don't inundate me
with mailings and I find the connections pretty damn inspiring.

The New Nothing is at 16 Sherman which is parallel and
between Folsom and Harrison and between 6th and 7th Streets.

Hope you can come - feel free to forward the sign-up link.

Thad Povey

Here's a little more about "Uncovered:"

"Uncovered" combines expert interviews with extensive research
to go behind the walls of government. Interviewees include:

* JOE WILSON, the former Ambassador to Iraq who exposed that
the famous "16 words" in Bush's State of the Union address
about uranium in Niger were false. In retaliation, senior White
House officials appear to have blown the cover of Wilson's wife,
an undercover CIA agent.

* JOHN DEAN, White House lawyer for President Nixon during
the Watergate scandal.

* RAND BEERS, former Special Assistant to the President and
Senior Director for combating terrorism.

* DAVID ALBRIGHT, a physicist, nuclear weapons expert, and
former weapons inspector with the IAEA Action team.

* RT. HON. CLARE SHORT, the British Member of Parliament
who recently resigned her position as Tony Blair's secretary for
international development because Blair did not support a UN
coalition to rebuild Iraq.

i honestly don't know anything about it other than this message
that was sent to me. i'd check out the move-on website...
apparently over 1,500 screenings have been organized ( all
happening on sunday), so i think you can look for one in your zip
code.

SAT. 12/6: MASSETT'S BEAM + WETGATE + RECODER + LONG
+

A cautionary against the dictatorship of the mall platters, Tim
Massett champions the projectionist as an active creative agent
and endangered species. Included in his doc's world debut are
clips of Chicago's James Bond, Austin's Luke Savisky, Havana
arc-operators, performance footage from past Other Cinema
Projectorama shows, AND documentation of WetGate, who also
appear live tonight! Peter Conheim, Steven Dye, and Owen
O'Toole play 16mm loops on their Graflexes as cinema concrete
compositions. ALSO "performing the projector" is the
wünderkind from El Sobrante (and NYC), Luis Recoder. PLUS
Kent Long's double-projection, and an Osram bulb ad.

Other Cinema
992 Valencia Street
SF, CA
8:30pm, $5

you are a sick sick person. wow. the Teratoma Tower
picture looks 3d from the first glance. now i see youre just
fucking with my eyes and head. this is my kinda stuff. does
rotten.com know about this eyeball rot?

on another note there is a new juxtapose magazine. i dont go for
arty photo stuff but this issue has some radical photo techniques
and pictures. some pulp paperback covers set up by this one
photographer, fahey, and there's some other nice stuff in there.
best of Gilles whoever.

you guys may kill me for suggesting that arty mag but they get some
sick stuff in there too. someone is talking about joni mitchell so i
guess i can just axe that thought out anyhow.
back to the cum huffing.
