Stalwart country-rock band Poco is recording a DVD tonight at the Belcourt
Theatre, and guitarist/singer/Poco co-founder Richie Furay will be re-joining
his old bandmates for the occasion.
Among the most influential and radio-friendly country-rock bands, Poco forged a
blueprint for contemporary country music with Crazy Love, Call It Love and other
hits. At this point, Poco has been around for 35 years, and past shows have
found the band opening for The Who, Yes and Deep Purple, and headlining on shows
that included Billy Joel, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac and others. In other
words, these guys have been a big deal for a long time.
Hear Furay, Rusty Young, Paul Cotton, George Grantham and Jack Sundred,
beginning at 8. $20 cover.
