We've got some interesting shows this month, including our Hammond Cheese
Combo plus Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at Bimbo's 365 Club in SF, an all-star jazz
and blues review with lots of vocalists and musicians backed by the fabulous
Lavay Smith & her Red Hot Skillet Lickers at the Cafe du Nord in SF, and a
Halloween Party at the renovated Little Fox Theatre in Redwood City.

Come on out, because you never know who will turn up: last month we had
surprise guests visiting and sitting in like our friend Bay Area local
Francis Clay, the legendary drummer from the Muddy Waters band (and more).
Francis is featured in the new PBS series about the blues, so check him out.
And we had some musicians from Boston harmonica player Cheryl Arena &
guitarist/vocalist Matt Woodburn come and sit in, who were in town for the
Monterey Jazz Fest and SF Blues Festival and they sounded great. And Carmen
was thrilled to finally meet jazz guitar master Bruce Forman at the Seaside
Jazz Arts Show. Bruce sat in with the band, and he also presented some of
his students, 8 of whom won scholarships to USC. For more information about
